5:19 this is getting so over hyped. I understand the whole concept of content control, but this will not go well. In 2 years, consumer level hardware will be able to create all these videos with no overlord control. Much like the music industry got runover by mp3's, this technology will change the game for who and what can create and control the content created. If we create o early broad controls in the US, then China will just release something that bypasses it all (minus saying bad things about China or it's leaders), just because of how happy they are with all the tariffs the US has placed on them to give us a warm fuzzy back.
Maybe not Sora quality level, but we could see unlocked decent quality open source video creation tools in 1 year.
Th3 flood doors hav3 been opened. I guess the powers to be just have to decide which side of the wall they want to be on. The walls are going to fail, it's just a question of when!

I use AI, but I do have a fundamental hatred of people putting fake pictures and stories out there and passing them off as real. This is a people problem, not a technological issue.

It was obvious when Sam Altman was temporarily removed as CEO that something fundamentally was wrong in the company. That since then many other managers leaved is speaking a clear language. OpenAI is build on sand and will not be even to ever break even. When the AI bubble gets replaced by economical thinking, OpenAI will get into deep trouble. Who is smart is building their AI stack without OpenAI LLMs and services.

We will see mass productions by general public, a section of indi creators who create their vision without limit of budget/money and become big know faces (coz of their creations getting big hits) (we will see a trend of lot more unknowns making big and successful movies (that suddenly rise to popularity like a trend)), but hollywood will have its place too. Infact majority will still be hollywood, until when the gotten successful new names continue ahead their universes and publish new movies.
Basically ai will open a startup ecosystem for movie making.
But hollywood and established player have a big advantage of rights. People watch movies of stars and they dont and wont allow their faces to be used. Hollywood already has set up universes. Also people might prefer watching real people instead of ai actors (but again, i cant predict where the culture will go and what it will accept vs not).
(There is also a reality where indis get big and then cast hollywood actors).
Basically if hollywood slacks (which it is massively right now), indis will get huge push and incentive.
Biggest role will be played by writers and visionaries and// directors.
And if some laws are formed if at all, that just changes everything.

800 biggies have called for ban on super intelligence till safety is ensured. This was such a no brainer and always going to happen thing. Regulation is what will happen and is actually the only way. But one country wont act coz of the fear of other country surpassing. So lets see when the countries from pacts and rules.
Dont know how hidden secret development will play out though, coz deep seek has proven that you dont need big scale. Deep seek is the scary part.

they don't realize people will loose interest in their likeness soon, they'll create better looking and sounding actors and create any content with them like game characters.. It's not that I'm advocating for it, but I feel it's unstoppable. It's already reality with text to speech for voice actors.

Much more original work being shown on youtube by independents than by Hollywood for the last several years. Hollywood needs to grab people off the street, give them a camera and a sound recorder, and tell them "go make a movie. Come back in eight weeks."

Sorry but i have no sympathy for Hollywood. I still have to live with the laws on the book based off on movie fiction. Hollywood is upset because they arent getting paid to make the actual celeb do the silly things we make them do with the same quality of fix. The music industry is now obsolete. I can record and have ai mix and master better than the big studios for $20. Not $500 an hour. Hollywood should be thankful we only get 15 seconds or so per scene. I would have more to say but me and Bruce lee and about to play ping pong with nunchucks

People who hate AI donāt understand that AI is a tool. You can still keep your job, if youāre willing to adopt AI to boost your productivity. But if you donāt? Well, then someone else will. And that person will replace you.
This applies to almost everything, movie production, coding, engineering, ā¦ Just adopt, itās not that hard.
This is like being angry with āthe internetā and sticking with physical papers instead of using a PC. Yeah, you better expect to be fired if you canāt adopt

Iād hazard OpenAI realised that trying to prevent Sora from generating any/all copyrighted likenesses would be difficult to implement and easy to break, making an opt-in system functionally useless. Opt-out means they can explicitly specify the things not to be generated, a much easier task.
