I was an eighth grade when this came out. My first girlfriend skipped school to go see their concert. In fact, most of the girls did that day. Itās kind of weird. The whole school had become all boys because Hanson came to town for one day.

Hang on, they're not girls?? I was only ever vaguely aware of them, but I did have that song in my head. Saw them come by in a clip – assumed it was a girl band, or at least most of them were. Nothing wrong with that. But learned – in 2025 – that Hanson were boys…

When I studied in NYC one of the few Americans in the class was an avid Hanson fan. Iād honestly never heard of them and thought Mmbop was a bad Jackson 5 song. She was horrified š
