As an Aussie I had to watch this to make sure that this bird wasn’t bothered or even inconvenienced in anyway. In case anyone watching didn’t know Aussie's are viciously protective of our native wildlife. If something were to have gone wrong with this skit and the bird got hurt trying to fly away into the studio or something Will Ferrell wouldn’t be safe..ever…anywhere he went. We would find him.
Yes we shoot kangaroos but that’s too complicated for a YouTube comment. All i can say to anyone watching be very careful how you treat any Australian animal.

That cockatoo is actually a female (hen). You can tell by the eye color. Females have red eyes, males have totally black eyes. Also, judging by the size and shape of its crest, that bird is very likely a hybrid (cross-breed) between a galerita triton sulphur-crested cockatoo and a galerita alba (umbrella) cockatoo.
