The New Gurus of the USA | ENDEVR Documentary

Watch ‘The New American Oligarchs: Who Rules The USA?’ here: https://youtu.be/OLMDHdk6F8I

In an America in search of meaning, gurus, healers, shamans and other modern wizards have become the new providers of worth. Festivals, retreats and detox courses promising spiritual wellness are multiplying.

We follow emerging gurus like Unicole, who is convinced she was sent to Earth by aliens to start a new religion and uses social media to gather followers. Meanwhile in Hollywood, Shaman Durek is adored and charges his disciples nearly $1,000 per hour to attend a seance. There’s a fine line between a spirituality coach and a professional crook though.

We follow the comeback of James Arthur Ray, sentenced to ten years in prison when three of his members died during a ceremony, as he re-establishes himself on the spirituality circuit in Las Vegas.

I wish we as a society would put aside our play-acting and just get real with each other. No need for gurus, no need for mysticism. Just humans, looking at each other, being honest with each other. Getting together and being helpful, listening, friendly. All it would take is to stop looking at everyone else as dumb idiots and start accepting them as humans, capable of kindness, greatness, strength, endurance, happiness, joy, peace and love. Without the damn gimmicks. It's why I'm almost 40 and have yet to find a "tribe" I guess…no one wants to put aside childish gimmicks and be real. Truth will set us free.

People who are wise know that you're already a spirual being, the source and energy is inside you. People who don't know are paying for it.Don't listen to fairytales of guru's and politicians.

This is so typical of Americans, lol. They can't accept life so they need this stuff to make them feel special. This is a result of an empty self involved society 😅

well ok a bit delulu but way harmless than those presented in the documentary <<GOD BLESS AMERICA: How the US is obsessed with religion>>. or scientology, mormons etc. But still, finding reasons to not look at the Global South where people and children are exploited for our privilege.

32:09 I grew up in the deep south in the Bible belt that’s just not true. Church attendance is way down. I hardly know anybody that goes to church fanatically that’s just misinformation, come on.

I support the concept of people working towards self discovery, questioning, and questioning intensively, what exactly their own belief systems are. However the majority in this video are looking for someone else to guide them on that quest, and in capitalizing on their wiliness to open up, others are professing to know what's best for for these gullible people in their own quest for meaning. This is no different than what has been happening for thousands of years with the major world religions, where the words and thoughts of human beings have been packaged and sold to the gullible as having a cosmic source, and an establishment of rules and laws from an alleged cosmic/supernatural authority, always minus solid evidence. And whether with the major world religions or some wacked out cult, the first step in admission is a suspension of rational, logical thinking, and a restructuring in entirety, of ones interpretation of what constitutes reality as it's known to exist. So to recap, I think this video was very entertaining, but don't believe their leaders are doing anything that's not being done in the mainstream religious markets, they're simply tweaking the dialog to suit a different audience.

These pseudo-religions and new belief groups are garbage at first glance! Scams for naive believers! But everyone is free to be fooled by their own free will! Those “gurus” are equivalent to drug lords and shall be respond to the law for their criminal behaivor!
