I remember seeing her perform this on New Years Eve TV when I was 19 or 20 (so when the song came out) and everyone at the party commented on how "fat" she was for a pop star. Someone said she shouldn't be a pop star because of it 😵‍💫 crazy how far we've come and also not

In my experience black and mixed guys LOVE the butt. White guys get weird about it and stop treating you like a person. Black guys still treat me like a person and use more words like "beautiful". Just my experience though.

If you can’t say something good about yourself or other people without putting someone else down, you may as well have screamed “I AM DEEPLY INSECURE” at the top of your lungs

im very late just wanted to say there is a czech translation of the song which i honestly like so much more since the song is much more about a girl who isn’t skinny knows that and doesn’t care there is baisicaly no mention of boys outside of one verse where she says she knows boys prefer thin girls but she doesn’t care and i just think that is a much more uplifting message than… whatever this is. Also the chorus is just objectively better becouse it isn’t just repeating the same line over and bloody over

I do like Meghan Trainer’s stuff, but I understand why some people don’t like it. I get it, the lyrics sometimes don’t make sense or they say something controversial. Personally, I just like the old school style of her music. And she seems to be a nice person in real life, outside of her music.

I've heard of "fat shaming," but I guess "skinny shaming" can be a thing, too. It's toxic that she would call out thin women for being thin. I know this song is supposed to boost the self-esteem of bigger women, but it's doing it for all the wrong reasons: To make thin women feel ashamed of themselves, and to suggest that all a woman needs to do is impress a man, and the best way to do that is to be full figured. I used to think it was a fun song, but now I see how inherently cruel and sexist it is.
