Dont get me wrong…Hader is hilarious…its just this impression isnt ALL THAT funny [ imho]…but Conans fake hysterical cackling overplays anything one can even hear about the impression😵💫

🤓 I know I’m stating the obvious here, but I’m pretty sure some people don’t get it: what’s funny is that Michaels is surreptitiously bragging, that’s why he covers his eyes, in trying to diffuse the effect of name dropping like that, like it’s nothing. But deep down Michaels is proud of his achievements and of all the famous people he knows. That’s why the bit is funny. Hader is mocking this by transposing the attitude to a context in which Michaels wouldn’t be so proud, and in which his fake composure while bragging would sound absurd. It’s a subtle denunciation of this behaviour, like all comedy should be. 🤓
