We had a case of violence against our family & police did not want any information we gave them. We would "taint the evidence" but they also did not seem to do much of their own investigation. The perpetrator's family were criminals but had resources & lawyers that got every adult child that committed crimes, off the charges or had them reduced. We had the US Canada border & Reservation so multiple jurisdictions create voids, inaction & seeming apathy. Civil suits require assets in more than one jurisdiction & multiple lawyers & for criminal charges basically they had to be caught in the act. The perp ended w time served a matter of days not months. And parole was a joke during Covid. Another perp has a warrant but they need to be caught crossing the border.
