I think i can provide some helpful insight information here. There is a strict ghost-protocol that needs to be followed by any ghost that wants to enact their revenge. It is against protocol to go back and immediately attack the target of your revenge.All ghost are required to first perform several relatively innocent scares, such as making loud noises, let some lights flicker, move a chair, or slam a door. Only after about one and a half hour of increasingly scary but innocent scares, a ghost is allowed to attack its target. This protocol is also explained in several documentaries that can be seen in a theatre near you 😁

Had a really similar experience to this once, a guy snuck up behind me and murderized 100% of my entire being.
I came back later and pulled the blanket off him while he was sleeping and disappeared so i think we're even
