The Exorcism of David Bowie’s Swimming Pool
In the mid 1970s, David Bowie released “Station to Station” as he transformed into the Thin White Duke. His mental and physical state was in major decline due to addiction. Becoming obsessed with the occult, he felt Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin was casting dark spells on him. And then there was his haunted Los Angeles swimming pool. This is the story of David Bowie around that time, how he spiraled into madness, and how he hired a white witch to conduct an exorcism on his possibly possessed pool.

CLARIFICATION: Per Angela Bowie in her book "Backstage Passes," Walli Elmlark provided guidance for Bowie in the exorcism from New York , which Bowie himself conducted on the pool at his home in LA.

Around the year 2000, Bowie appeared on the Ellen Show. I remember he mentioned all of the religions he had tried, and the three I recall him mentioning are Buddhism, satanism, and Christianity. Whether he'd been serious about the satanism though, or whether he just thought it made a good story, who knows?

I thought a couple of Bowies songs were alright, but he is way overrated like so many others
But if you go with the program, they will give you fame and fortune
This is what they choose up until their deaths or have to keep holding their end up until they do die.

One of the most important things to remember when someone is heavily addicted and constantly taking coke is that you're not eating and even more importantly not sleeping. When staying up for days on speed the drug becomes a hallucinogenic.

Look, to be perfectly honest, I also tried to get my swimming exorcised pool a few years ago. Something just wasn't feeling right, so I called the experts in. It was a very expensive undertaking and took several hours. Anyway, turned out it was only the pool filter cartridge, which got clogged up with the mother-in-law's panties. Scary shit..

Isn't there a story about David and Angie and a "cursed" (what he believed) photo with a black hand on Angie? I vagely remember reading about it in some biography but I can't remember the photo. But there is a b/w photo where David has seemingly his arm around her waist and the hand is disturbingly black indeed. Does anybody heard of this story? Seems to fit in that time period.

I saw that tour in 1976 ( thin white Duke) station to station , in feb 1976 at the forum in Montreal. It cost $9.50. I had just bought the album and it was the first concert I smoked weed at. I was 15. It was an amazing show I started smoking Gaulios cigs after because I noticed he had a pack in his vest. ( I was that close ) I no longe smoke , cigarettes.
