Disgruntled Taxpayer Launches Suicide Attack on IRS | Tales From the Bottle

Most of us probably have some gripes with the taxman. Though, you probably wouldn’t give your life over it… would you?

“The 2010 Austin suicide attack occurred on Thursday, February 18, 2010, when Andrew Joseph Stack III deliberately crashed his single-engine Piper Dakota light aircraft into Building I of the Echelon office complex in Austin, Texas, United States, killing himself and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) manager Vernon Hunter. Thirteen others were injured, two severely. The four-story office building housed an IRS field office occupying the top three floors, along with a couple of private businesses on the first floor. Prior to the crash, Stack had posted a suicide note to his website, expressing his disillusionment with corporations and government agencies such as the IRS. Stack is also suspected of having set fire that morning to his two-story North Austin house, which was mostly destroyed.
In the aftermath, there was increased debate over the policies of the IRS, and different forms of protest. In response to the attack, the IRS spent more than $38.6 million, with $6.4 million spent to recover and resume work at the building, and over $32 million spent to increase security at other IRS sites in the U.S. However, the spending on security changes was questioned as being ineffective. The building was repaired by December 2011.”

    Honestly I think the 7 minutes of build up was great. It showed JUST how bad his government had wronged him. In a way I feel bad for him. Taxes can be very predatory, and the way he got f***ed over….. all I can say is if that happened to me, I woulda lost my mind too and acted in a similar way. The IRS really were out to get him.

    My Heart Goes out to Mr Stack, and the rest of US Stacks. Sad but true video mate. And I'm all for Mr Stack, 👍🥸 But sometimes, 😳 you just end up Spoiling Another Mr Stack's Day. 👍🇬🇧😁👍

    He cost them more than they cost him.

    Joe Stack achieved his life's purpose.

    And he's inspired me to legally avoid paying as much taxes as humanly possible in my life. My hat's off to you Sir, Godspeed.

    Yeah hardly surprising that the IRS was not impressed by tax evasion. Ultimately they have the legal authority to determine if your claim to be a church is legitimate or not. Not saying thats a great idea but that is what the law books say. And here they were like no your obviously lying and you have committed tax evasion which you know he did.

    Hey my pop owed 155,000 in taxes. And believe me they came and took every penny. Matter of fact they've done it more than once I think of three times total they've got him for just shy of 3/4 of a million
