Five years later … Based on what YT's algorithm shows *me*, it looks like a lot of those have faded to the background. Now we have some great channels like Paulogia and Genetically Modified Skeptic which are more honest about their motives and beliefs.

I do agree with many anti-SJW points, however when one of these idiots uploads a video solely dedicated to complaining about a characters redesign because said character no longer has a skirt or the lead happens to be someone other than a white, cis, het male you tend to lose me.

As an atheist it’s very frustrating. We don’t want to attack people for their beliefs. We want them to understand and respect we don’t have the same beliefs they do.

Oh, those "skeptics".

"Nuance doesn't sell tickets" Exactly! What does sell tickets are cheap, visceral narratives. ei We're too politically correct these days- people are too easily offended" And as a white male with lots of white make friends who love screaming this from the mountain tops, I'll tell you that it all comes down to this stupid little fear. If they can call that person racist or sexist, then they'll call me one too. When people who say offensive things are told that what they say is offensive, they immediately get offended.

He miss characterizes the Nation of Islam here. they were more focused on fighting for Black freedom and empowerment, than they were against White people. They simply believed in separations and reparations, not defeat or destruction of White people. What they were more for, stands on its own merit, and needs no defense.

I'm an atheist and have found YouTube atheism two years ago and I allways wondered about the characterisation like yours. I found, that there is a bubble, that is skeptic and is actually talking about atheism.
And there are a lot of them, so I allways thought it's strange, that people talk about this anti sjw atheism, but I just think they left a vacuum, that has been filled already. Some channels are:
Paulogia
Rationality Rules
Cosmic Skeptic
Matt Dillahunty
Holy Koolaid
Genetically modified sceptic
Prophet of Zod
Viced Rhino

I think a lot of anti safe space people (which I used to be) don't really understand what safe spaces really are. Safe spaces are not necessarily echo chambers where you're completely shielded from criticism. They're places where minorities can express who they are and talk about discrimition while being almost guaranteed to find support there. It's a way to get a break from stigma and other shitty things that happens to them in general society.
If a person only frequent safe spaces and don't allow themselves to be exposed to the "real world", unless they're recovering from something, then the safe space does become an echo chamber.
But the use of safe spaces in moderation can be very healthy

Aren’t “skeptics” people advocating for “critical thinking”… I know a few communities that do this that you didn’t name. SGU is a huge one.

Time to begin a new Skeptic movement against these New Sceptics. It's up to us to carry honest skepticism forward against people who call themselves skeptics but don't behave like it. They are trying to hijack and discredit the word. Hence my term for those who are guilty of this: Sceptics.

There are a bunch of people in the comments "disproving" the wage gap in various ways. Some are saying that the number is more like 2-3 percent, which I can find no evidence on and no one can seem to vote properly. The other is that it isn't a "wage" gap, but an "earnings" gap. It is a bit semantic, but it does relate that the study compared the average wage of men and women to find the 77 cent stat. This is true. I agree with this statement. I do not agree with how people take that and simply say "that means that this is all up to women's choice of employment and therefore sexism is over." Firstly, people are socialized to see certain jobs as masculine and certain jobs as feminine, so there is still a social pressure for women to work at less profitable jobs. Secondly, those jobs they take don't inherently have to be paid less. One of the most commonly cited jobs women tend towards that pay less are teachers. Teaching young people is vital to our society. Why are they always the first to take a pay cut when the state expenditures are fucked? Thirdly, people saying they had less work because of child responsibilities and this covers the gap, yes, pregnancy does have to be their burden, but why should child care be a primarily feminine priority? If raising children was seen as a joint venture, wouldn't the answer to settling the gap be a social expectation of equal effort in parenthood?
Some people think power and privilege are simple. Just look at the law: there it is. But the reality is there are aspects that you are conditioned to believe and may not have ever thought to question.

A lot of so-called "skeptics" are really just anti-left. They embrace all manner of irrationalism from the right–knee-jerk anti-feminism, free market fundamentalism, social Darwinism, even (occasionally) white nationalism–yet insist "logic" doesn't support concepts like patriarchy and systemic racism. Also, I've yet to meet an anti-left "skeptic" who seems to have actually engaged with the ideas he–and it always a he–is so vehmently opposed to. Not one of these knuckleheads seems to have read an actual feminist text, for example. They seem to get 100% of their information about feminism from other anti-feminists.

I know, a bit old topic. I actually first saw the response video by Armoured Skeptic when he uploaded it (back then I followed him pretty regularly), but decided to rewatch, now that my opinions on these things have changed a bit.
I think it's pretty telling about the "community" when people started regarding people like Steven Crowder or PJW as part of the skeptic community. Or people like Bearing, TL;DR or Sargon. It's not skepticism to be anti-feminist or anti-SJW. Of course you can be skeptic and anti-feminist at the same time, but a lot of what these channels are doing is just "pwning" some college kids who act a bit too emotionally. And when they talk about some actual issues, they basically ignore all nuance and totally misrepresent the arguments they are trying to oppose.
It's important to also be skeptical of other people's (and your own) skepticism. Many people apply their skepticism pretty selectively. And I think it's also important to remember that "skepticism" isn't inherently good (or bad). I mean, technically you could consider climate change deniers and flat earthers "skeptics" – skepticism is just questioning, and different people apply their skepticism differently. But usually people that are considered skeptics are also willing to do some research and use logical reasoning – they aren't fast to jump to conclusions and they understand nuance. And this is seriously lacking in the "skeptic community".

The poor style of argumentation you are calling out in this video was first leveled against religion. The "YouTube skeptical community" did not suddenly turn irrational when they switched their target from religion to feminism. They the used the same poorly thought out debate tactics acrossed the board.
If you appreciated their arguments against religion, you were buying into their poor argumentation long before it was directed at SJWs.
