Merry Un-Christmas, everyone! And thanks to Jack, do check out his channel if you don't know it. (One bit of minutiae that didn't make the video: Bart also sang it in the very first episode, but the lyrics were slightly different and the show wasn't a pop culture phenomenon back then.)

Okay, Tom, so Britain learned "Robin laid an egg" from The Simpsons. BUT The Simpsons is an American show, so the Brits really learned "Robin laid an egg" from America. 😜😎

The version I know is
"Jingle bells batman smells robin laid an egg
Batmobile lost its wheel and joker ran away"
I didn't know it was from the Simpsons I just heard it from other kids who probably heard it from their parents who heard it from the Simpsons.

When I as in elementary school it was “jingle bells Batman smells robin laid an egg the bat mobile lost a wheel and joker got away, HEY!” I’m from the north eastern United States tho… we are sometimes a strange bunch especially in rural areas.

The 2 I heard when I was growing up were the basic simpsons one and the robin laid a gun ones, really thought that one was more popular

Ive never heard the "robin flew away" version, I'm from Florida, born in 98. As soon as i saw the title of the vid i tried reciting the jingle but could only remember "Jingle bells, batman smells, robin laid an egg" yet i distinctly remember it being longer than that. I just cant for the life of me remember what went after it though. And it wasnt just one line, for sure at least two, but might even be a third line. I specifically remember the batmobile and Joker, and maybe Santa being mentioned. But the santa might be a variation ive heard

As an american of course like the rest of my country i heard robin laid an egg. But I also had a couple versions after that. One being the batmobile lost a wheel and the Joker got away. And the other one being far more american saying the Joker shot a tree and died in 1933.

"Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin flew away! The batmobile lost a wheel and it landed on his head, hey!" is what we always sang in my area of Edinburgh, Scotland. I dont live there anymore but I never even considered there could be other options.
