Whoever wrote that book on the prehistory of private whatever has seriously flawed and Marxist tilt of History instead of having a free market you at a closed market in which only those who had power through means of violence could effectively own land you did not have agricultural communities and this is painfully evident when we searched the archaeological record what are you talking about the where culture the tiny tribula culture I mean you could search the European continent and Western Asia and consistently find examples of stratified societies where we just have a very similar theme of tribes with stratified social structures and generally speaking the people the top of everything and the people of the bottom own very little

Next thing you'll realize is that capitalism is slavery perfected. A system of exploitation that keeps people exploited by tricking them into consenting to the exploitation.

Also with the renting music and software thing I've slowly but surely over time been getting DVDs, downloading music to burn to CDs and buying outright or transfering as much software as possible. I still pay 9 bucks a month for Amazon but that's to me being a dumbass and them making it hard to find the 'cancel subscription' button. I recommend everyone one else do it, give them the middle finger.

Weird, the more capitalistic a country is the more people own property (like Japan), but in very social countries only a few own all the land (like the Netherlands).

It literally is the government's fault and I'm saying that as the most constitutional conservative. The market clearly demands small property lots with small homes and with modern technology it is absolutely possible to make homes the size of a 1 or even 2 bedroom apartment for $20k or less. The average person would absolutely be able to get a loan to buy this plus a ~$10k property lot to put it on. And even IF you personally didn't want to buy a home like that the point is that most people WOULD, and simply by nature of them buying those small homes would drastically decrease demand on existing apartments, thus driving your rent down significantly. But our corrupt government won't let a free market be free and let suppliers supply this obvious demand because it would cut Zillow and the whole absurdly selfish real estate industry. Point is we don't need "rent caps", we need a SMALLER GOVERNMENT WITH LESS ZONING LAWS.

YES!!! We all REALLY need to be talking about this and our future as a species.
We should be quite fearful of the idea of "subscription lifestyle" and "smarthome tech".
We are moving to Techno Feudalism and we are the serfs.

Its crazy, even if you have your own house, or land, the government can still take it anyways, not even the federal gov, the local town gov can do it, hell sometimes homeowners associations can do it.

The government does provide things we need…but then you realize they need them too. Us benefiting is a side effect. In many cases, us suffering is intended.
