I’m 17 but I wouldn’t dare download those apps 😂 I have enough creeps on Instagram tryin to add me, ntm if u can’t find someone in ur area in a healthy manner and u think u have to go online and make a list of “reasons” to hit you up, is crazy this stuff used to be so popular on Snapchat but in the recent years it’s stopped because is childish and dangerous, the kids have a problem and need to be sat down and talked to 😂 and that’s coming from a kid their age!

My friends had wizz, so I was contemplating getting it to be a troll. Never did end up getting it because I'm not giving an image of my face to an app, and to an AI I probably look 50.

I'll be honest, dating apps for child should be illegal, because age of consent is between 16 to 18 hence no way a minor should be allowed to engage in sexual or dating stuff, especially those below 16 or around 16. It is like giving an alcohol to pregnant woman, just because she wants doesn't mean she should be. In this particular case it can even take life or break family apart, especially kids who had been under multiple dating in such a under age came out to be more depressed and addicted to alcohol or drugs. There are many reason why age of consent was introduced in law.

I'm 16 now, but I had Wizz when I was 12-15-ish I believe. I was insecure and wanted to be validated by these people on the app, to feel like maybe I wasn't as bad as I thought I was. When I was 13, I met a boy, he asked for my snapchat, so I gave it to him. When we moved over to text on snapchat, the conversation was normal, if I'm remembering correctly, but then he mentioned he was doing things, if you catch my drift. I was curious, and I wish I hadn't been, I wish I was wiser, because I knew what could happen online. He then tried to coerce me into sending photos, he was begging me to engage and trying to be vulnerable with me, so I would feel more comfortable. What I mean by that is, he would say "You can be my first." and stuff like that. Anyways, I sent a photo, it wasn't "that bad" by any means but could've been considered suggestive. He then screenshotted or saved the photo. I told him to, "get rid of it now." and I was begging him to delete it, but he blocked me. Today, the memory resurfaced, and I realized that he could've been an adult, he probably was. It also hit me that he could've distributed the photo, maybe, maybe not, how could I know?
These apps need to be removed, what happened to me shouldn't have happened, and it's definitely still happening to other teenagers. If you're a teenager, please please please, don't go searching for validation on these apps, I know how it feels to be insecure and wanting to be validated. But the confidence boost you receive from this, it's only temporary and it can do more harm than good. Confidence and security come from within, if it's built on a sturdy foundation, you build yourself, it'll be stronger in the end. It'll take time to grow comfortable with yourself, but it will come, there will be ups and downs, but I believe you'll feel more fulfilled in achieving confidence that way. Thank you everyone who's chosen to read this.

I am now 24 years old and when I was in highschool I used yubo, I can definitely agree with you. As a child I was very lonely and talked to pedos disguised as 12 year olds.

One said to me that they will call the cops if I don't send😶 luckily I was a smart child and didn't do anything but looking back, these apps are the biggest reason for kidnappings.

    Thank you for spreading awareness
