I think there's something to that idea that 'all my problems are adhd based'
really, it's all dopamine based
addiction – chasing, the 'want', needing the hit of dopamine
depression – depletion of dopamine, NOT wanting/feeling motivated
and i feel like most issues fall into the 'too much dopamine' category where we're artificially spiking that neurotransmitter to get high (or to just get normal)
and then eventually we build tolerance and our default mode is then stuck in 'can't get enough dopamine',
until after a while sensitivity returns and we get that itch to go chase something again
i dont know if anyone else can relate to this, but I used to think I was bipolar because I would go back and forth between depressive/"manic" episodes, but I realized later as my awareness improved that it was really just the addict cycle at play

His parents weren't "allowed" to want to kill their kid. I relate to all the Catholic indoctrination.

Great interview and discussion! One of my favorites. Never knew a lot about David Koechner before, and really identify with his background.

My only complaint: Too short. I need more "Brennan & Koechner"

Whoa, just wow. For one of the best comedians to ever do it, that was one hardcore childhood. Guy’s given me so many laughs, didnt expect to be crying so quickly. But Neal got some great jokes in there, laughing and tearing up. Good stuff

Koechner & his tenderness pertaining to parenting reminds me of my Pops, it's crazy. So sweet.

The Goods : Live Hard Sell Hard is one of the best comedies ever. I laugh so hard every time I watch it. So underrated!

The amount of intensely genuine /profound questions/statements packed in here is impressive. Talking about never having bonded with your mother, the desolation of childhood, etc… Jealous of these guys having each other/this forum. Dont hear conversations like that every day

I was in high school when David Koechner was on SNL. He always stood out as one of the most interesting players, and I was sad that they didn't keep him longer. After listening to this podcast, I have even greater respect for him, and I wish him absolutely the best with his life, and look forward to seeing more of him. You can do it, man!

I just moved out of my babies mothers place. Our son just turned 2 & its been by far the most difficult thing I have ever had to deal with.. when David cried at the 7 minute mark I let out so many tears & im truly amazed at how much better I feel after watching this. I truly appreciate the premise of this podcast, it has given me hope for the future & it is clear that is the intention of this show.

Start a petition to bring Mr. Koechner back to SNL. Such a bad idea to get rid of him. His characters are funny. Delivery.
