Queen’s Live Aid performance it often considered the greatest performance of all time, but the story behind it is not as smooth as everyone thinks.

And they are still starving in Africa. So what a waste of time & money it was.

My Vater had a recording of Queen at Liveaid and always played it at great moments in his live.
I think it impacted a lot of people.
He died 2 weeks ago and we played queen at his funeral.

Ahhh sorry to hear about the copyright claims. In my experience they take MOST of the video's revenue for ever, no matter how few seconds you include. I even got done for singing a bit of Gaudette myself as part of a vlog once!! I didn't think that was in copyright, but apparently it was! I also got done for playing a couple of phrases of unaccompanied CPE Bach on my flute in my celler as part of a vlog too. Who the blinking heck owns the rights to that!!?! I think fair use should apply to this educational content of yours.

Live Aid, "We Are the World" by USA for Africa, and "Do They Know It's Christmas? And Africa was saved! Wait… I guess it's still the same. But a lot of people made a lot of money, so that's something.

Nobody remembers Bob Geldof in 2025, but Queen transcends generations.

Your leaning on Queen, as being has beens a little too strong. The travesty of a film is a very poor reference to use. Everyone I knew at the time knew that Queen would be a highlight. The media machine then as now is never to be taken seriously. Freddy as well as Band members all had their own paths to explore (but as with all groups coordinating a unilateral, what do we do), the media are always happy to fill the blanks in, which they had ample.
Either way always nice to hear people Remember Live aid because of Queens contribution.

You could tell by the extra microphony on the cameras that Queen had those faders pushed right up!

Man someone with the balls to call it like it is. At the time Queen was kind of a silly band that no one claimed to be into until after Mercury died. Then suddenly everyone was a huge Queen fan. Bohemian Rhapsody blew up after it was featured in Wayne’s World. This has happened with many bands after someone passed to soon. It is what it is.

No offense sir. Queen was never and never will be considered "has-beens". Imagine one of the biggest bands of the past decade. Who I am sure most people figured were on the verge of breaking up. Suddenly playing at a venue you bought tickets for and were not among the list of performers. Its not a surprise the audience knew what to do, or were in sync. It was Queen for christ sake.

I hate the copyright crap. I’m not a big music guy. Content like yours makes me much more likely to engage with or purchase the music you cover.
