To my idiot fellow Americans. When you buy fresh fruits and vegetables, wash and soak them for approximately 10 minutes in water with baking soda. It will help clean your food from pesticides and foreign elements.😮

My grandfather was an epidemiologist with the WHO, specialized in malaria and lived in badly affected regions sometimes for several years at a time. I lived with my grandparents in Nepal for over a year in early 90s, and still remember vividly how all produce was to be soaked in iodine solution for several hours before consumption, without fail. It didn't affect the taste, btw. Who says you can't relive your childhood… 😒

Thoroughly washing produce might not be enough if the water the plant has taken in is contaminated. Cooking is the only surefire way to kill/remove the harmful bacteria. John Oliver did an episode of Last Week Tonight about food safety, can't recommend it highly enough 😁

I’d say there’s more overlap between the industries mentioned and the MAGA movement than we cared to admit, because a lot of people are profit driven. But the wellness trend in this country has also covered a lot of left-leaning individuals as well.

Why not focus on how products become infected or contaminated during their production process? Something is inherently wrong with the production process is creating the need for a government inspection of foods.

Solution grow your own food, sadly that is time consuming and not everyone has land to grow. This would be the best way to know the source, avoid chemicals and add nutrients to your soil! No one can trust anything anyone!

I'd encourage people to go vegetarian tbh. Actually, maybe vegan, given how many people milk used to kill before regulation. You can (and should) wash your veggies, but I wouldn't trust animal products under this admin. Or buy halal, maybe. Stay safe out there :/
