They know, they just don't care. They know red voters are not going to change their minds of votes regardless of this tragedy, just like they didnt change their minds or votes post Uvalde, or other past tragedies.
Either way, lovely video as always.
And Ms Erin, the new haircut is gorheous.

The people of Kerr County turned down two Federal funding grants from Democratic Admin.s, Obama and Biden, because they didn't want "commie money."

Can someone bring up the fact that if this was a diverse, low-cost YMCA camp, no one would even know about it. This was an affluent, white, uber-Christian camp, so people are paying. This would never have made the national news if it weren’t.
We can’t blame DOGE for this. We have been trying to get that system in place since 2917, for only one million dollars!
We, and most of our neighbors, have a generator that runs on fuel and solar power, solar fans, emergency shelters, a first aid kit built for zombie apocalypse because I have a bleeding disorder, Red Cross crank radios and flashlights, oil lamps, and anything else you need to survive like time travelers in the 1860s. We are set for anything. We live on a lake, and when the water reaches a certain level on the bulkhead, we, as. Neighbors, get together and help all of the people who live right on the lake uphill with their RVs and lawn everything in their lawn (canopies, furniture, boats, etc.). Even the weekenders who may not be here when a storm rolls in. We just hook up trailers to trucks, the manager has emergency keys to most people’s trailers and motor homes, so get together and get everyone to higher ground, because for most of us, this is where we live, not our summer holiday spot. We have an emergency food bank for those without stores of canned goods of their own, we clean out the freezers and have a huge barbecue before ne’s meat goes bad, the park has stores of drinking water…. We really live in a great community, even though the people in the fancy lake houses across the cove look down on us as poor people (most of hare just retired). We take care of each other, as a lot of exams do for their neighbors.
Greg Abbott has shown us for the last time that’s he is NOT a Texan.

Texas just flipped to blue after this. I’ve always been blue, but I can tell you that with this and with the immigration policy (we have a HUGE Latino population), they have lost their base. Suva huge part of his base is also on flare, relying on Medicaid and SNAP, so they fucked up down here.
Abbott is out. Period. There is no way that he is getting re-elected shot of voter fraud (which we don’t put past him). People think he is slime, and rightfully so.

Not to be crass, but Newsflash folks, when one habituates a known flood-prone area, then one had all the warning they needed.

The ultimately buck stops with Trump! Abbott is just a dupe and fall guy. How may people will be surprised when Abbott's neck will be across the stump and waiting for the ax to fall for this?

Pls have the two Latina counselors who stepped up and did what government officials couldn’t. They brought the girls together and prepared to evacuate because they saw mattresses from the camp ground at the higher level camp floating down the river. They wrote the name of each girl on her arm for rescue purposes. They saved dozens of Camp Mystic campers. Their story needs to be shared, shouted, and rebroadcasted. Along with these two brave young women, it should be lauded about the rescue teams sent from Mexico and California. Did any red states send teams- haven’t heard of a single one.

I absolutely do not care about what happened. Christian camp, so these kids parents probably don't care for YOURS and what they want to pass legislatively. Your family member could die during a miscarriage or someone like that and they'll shrug their shoulders. Now they want sympathy for theirs? Fuck em 🖕🖕🖕

I'm not an expert in emergency management or any related field, but wouldn't investing in disaster prevention be cheaper than disaster cleanup? I mean, please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to minimize the human toll and tragedy, but I am trying to put it in a language many (in my opinion) on the right will understand

I live in the area surrounded by the hill country, and my heart absolutely breaks for my fellow Texans. On July 4th no one (at least in my family) ever received a flash flood warning, which is actually unusual for this area because we have a real problem with people driving into high water areas and getting stuck. However, we did get a text from the police department reminding everyone not to shoot " celebratory gunfire" in the air. 😒 Priorities…

According to the Texas Tribune, Biden's 2021 American Rescue Plan made $10M available to Kerr County which could have been used for a warning system. Kerr County chose to use only $7M of that funding and spent it on other things. A large percentage of people in Kerr County wanted to reject all of the funds because they didn't want anything from Biden.

A blue alert? Really? They think random people with no weapons or training are just gonna wake up or leave work to help an officer in trouble when they don’t have a clue what they’re walking into? I’m trying to understand the purpose. Off-duty officers or firefighters maybe, but again, who’s just gonna stop bathing their newborn or abandon their kids at the park to respond? Can anyone explain the purpose of these alerts? I didn’t know this was a thing.

Abbott attacking the people who asked the legitimate question of who was to blame is so indicative of Repubs. Instead of thoughtful answers, they ALWAYS attack and insult the questioner. It's how they avoid accountability.

I've seen so many things written essentially about how the camp part of it is esp sad bc camp is supposed to be a "glimpse of adulthood." The number of ppl who don't/won't /can't see the direct link between that sentiment and the fact that young ppl today are left with almost nothing for the future, compared to even their parents generation is astonishing to me. Like, yes, a glimpse into adulthood for young ppl today IS catastrophic weather and lack of appropriate warnings or response.

I honestly hate to sound like so calloused, heartless, A-hole from elitist California that Texans want to think we Californians are anyway and as much as it pains me to say BUT when people continuously sit around making sh!t sandwiches eventually they're going to have to eat one to know that they taste as awful as they smell. Its a shame it has to happen that way, but unfortunately it is what it is .
