I'm not sure people disappearing is all that weird. The Earth, believe it or not, is really big. A plane crashing, even a big one, and never being found really isn't that weird. Though something like a 737 is a really big plane from a human's POV, in the context of a mountain range or an ocean, they are comparably tiny.
I think in the modern globalized era where you could date someone on the other side of the world and every major country knows what hostile nation's leader's preferred brand of toilet paper is, we expect there to be no unknowns. However, in reality, plenty of things happen everyday that go unnoticed or ignored. It's just a big world.

the gravity thing is technically true, since we don't know how quantum works with gravity, but we think we mostly know gravity, according to Einstein.
youtube is bad at explaining it, but the reason you fall towards the earth is because that's where the future is. well, a bit…
so, mass bends spacetime. if you bend spacetime enough, like in a black hole, the future is literally into the black hole. once you pass the event horizon, the future is literally a direction in space, towards the singularity, or whatever is in the centre of a black hole.
but, mass bending space-time works the same everywhere.
so, physicists call the thing where mass bends spacetime "gravity", but that doesn't have anything to do with what most people call gravity.
the reason we fall to the ground, the thing most people call gravity, is because, like in the black hole, the earth bends spacetime so that the future is a little bit towards the centre of the earth.
the thing most people call gravity is literally bent-time pushing you into the earth.

I'm no scientist, and a bit stupid at that, but doesn't the fact that there's a limit to how far away we can see into the universe, and it's pretty much the same distance no matter which direction we look, technically make us the center of the (observable) universe?

science is a long game of "as far as we know nothing proves this wrong for now… never mind we were wrong" and theories are "this has remained the best way to explain it for so long and held up as the best explanation so we can say to a greater degree most of it is right and can be used as a ground for many other hypotheses"

You focused on broad conclusions that scientists don’t know but I can tell you it’s much deeper. Today I was doing a CRISPR Cas9 gene knock out and I was training someone on the protocol. At one point we use a buffer “p3” with “supplement 1”. The new person asked me what p3 does and there’s almost no way to know. It’s some proprietary buffer made by lonza that somehow makes the knockout happen better. Companies will make a kit to achieve a goal then the buffers are like R15B and A613. Then the instructions are weirdly specific with these nonsense titles

As far as why most people are right-handed, I always thought it was because the parents of a kid demonstrated writing with their right hand. That or it was just the first hand the kid used to write.
