Funny black bear rolling around in sawdust
Apparently this bear thought rolling around in sawdust was a real hoot! And once the bear was done rolling, it decided a little back scratch was in order!

The reason the bear is doing this is because the sawdust is from a spruce tree and the smell helps to
keep away skin parasites. Had a friend who worked for a lumber mill in northern Minnesota and black bears would regularly come to roll around in to roll around in the piles of pine wood chip

I absolutely love this. We animals have a lot in common. Just enjoying the simple things in life. That is what we all have in common. Let us protect all of these wild souls, and in doing so we will protect ourselves.

Betting it's cedar. Black bears love cedar, and it's a natural insect repellent.

ive read before that the odor of pine can be a bug repellant. i suppose it depends on which variety has the strongest smell.

Mother nature/Wildlife is the best. Pure and primative behavior….So in two or three months someone with a rifle and scope from 150 yards/150 meters puts a bullet into its heart….they call that hunting?!?! Society is so F'ed Up…we kill and destroy most everything. Brighter note…. science can bring back the Tasmanian tiger…which we made extinct along with the Currier Pigeon

Happiness is pile of leaves and a good back scratching tree. It's really too bad over consuming humans can't find contentment with the simple things in life.
