    16:37 that genre of commentary reminds of that time creators shit on a 12 year olds making stuff on Gacha life
    (I recall a guy saying “the only reason this has views is because of my fans” about a popular Gacha series at the time but that guy seems to just be a dick)

    I don't really see a lot of toxicity on YouTube but that's because I watch mostly chill commentary creators such as yourself, or media critics that make an effort to point out both the good and the bad parts of a piece of media. (Tho I won't lie, I also love videos that tear into corporate garbage media like the Disney remakes every now and then.)
    But yeah, even tho I don't see it happening, I'm aware the toxicity is out there. But I am seeing more and more commentary/critic channels popping up that try to reduce the toxicity by just being less mean and include more positivity in their videos. Hopefully it's a trend that will continue!

    I think we should just ALL title videos neutrally like instead of "The Death of Commentary" we could have the title of the video be "My standpoint on Commentary videos recently." I think that's intriguing without being clickbait.

    20:38 there are psychological benefits to St. Johns-wort, that wasn't a misrepresentation. You rag on the dude for saying things without having the information to accurately speak on the subject and then you do the exact same thing not even a second later.

    I definitely made a video with the title "Dark Matter is Trash and You Were All Wrong" in reference to the book by Blake Crouch and, while that's a bit extreme, I 100% stand by that.

    I relate so much to the "HEY YOU HAVEN'T MADE GOOD VIDEOS THAT PEOPLE WANNA SEE IN A WHILE YOU LOSER, sincerely, Youtube <3". I've always wanted to upload "what I want" on my channel, and I'm also aware that some videos are not gonna be as popular. But I still find it to be stressing to see numbers going up or down. All statistics. I try to avoid looking at the statistics page as much as I can. Because as a smart lady once said, a human being is not made for handling the attention of millions of people at the same time 🥺😆

    This reminds me of a Film Crit Hulk that was something like "the Internet was always toxic" or "there was never an Internet golden age"

    It was about the early Internet message boards and how even then, people were awful, toxic shits.

    I was always on the vloger, video essay, and Slenderman videos.
    I've watched vlog brothers every week for over a decade.

    I didn't get into the 2d YouTuber rantsona era or the updated vtubers. I never got into let's plays or the worse and longer Livestreams.

    I didn't know about content cop until the Ethan thing.

    Which, overall doesn't make sense because I am a messy bitch who loves drama.

    YouTube is just really big. And I've watched a lot of it, everyday, starting in 2010. There are still creators I've never heard of or seen.

    There's a lot of great YouTube.

    We need to ask why is mainstream culture this way, I do not know why myself never figured it out, I blame the music, why is it 360 when it comes too alternative culture. 100% always whether punk, metal, or goth we are super positive people music is sad or political and yet we are happy most people spend life avoiding it and they are angry hateful people. Also, I get why people don't like Emo's and call them fake punks because they are, when was the last time an emo band wrote a song for gays, or a heartfelt song supporting Ukraine never.

    Like seriously when a prominent goth bands gets actual Ukrainian soldiers to play a concert with them is awesome everyone should be doing this it makes you happy to support others, you will be happier if you spend you're time helping others, and supporting others. It's quite literally the opposite according to science when people think and care about others it makes them feel good and in turn make them happy, the people you deem unhappy actually are the happy ones. Why are punks, goths, and metalheads quite literally have a greater life satisfaction have greater empathy. This is backed by actually science not antidote.

    Also, idubbz is a bad example why is he apologizing to people who are horrible people I am sorry by Logan is a terrible person, he mostly poked fun of SA inflictors, and scammers. He was doing good things for the world I avoided multiple scams becasue of him, also why people stopped watching him he was a scam alert channel and was funny about it. I am sorry I feel I can and have 100% right to poke fun of people who abuse women, children or are criminals. I poke fun of Kent Hovind all the time does that make me a hateful person, no he went to jail and beat his wife he is open game now.

    Like literally people get defensive when you poke fun of Hitler you literally cannot joke about the guy and we have a rise of Nazi's surprise surprise why we went 40 years without them rising up becasue we shamed them. Now society has made it taboo to poke fun of them and now we got a bunch running around saying how black people are at fault for not being rich while sitting on grandpa slave owners money.
