What China manage to did for EV, Solar, HSR & infrastructure. They will do for Robotics. The West Alliances can sanction, contain & threaten all they want. China will be more motivated move forward. Example Deep Seek, Huawei & Tic Tok.

We are so far off. The hoopla is all smoke. These are just silly toys. No one is buying this garbage, Humnoid robots my never be viable products much less "in every home"

"on track to pass America"? Dude… "on track to"? C'mon now… they passed the US ages ago. And they ain't even started taking us to the next level yet!

People need to stop giving Elon/Tesla's comparatively stone age Optimus robot so much undeserved attention and investment when other other companies, both domestic and foreign, are leagues ahead of them in development. You all will have affordable BD and Unitree butler droids doing your laundry and Musk will still be bragging about all the miraculous things Optimus will do and that it's only 5 months away.

It is a CGI result. Watch carefully, the robot does not have a "correct" shadow.

Humans don't actually stand statically balanced on one foot while moving the other, like our humanoids seem to do.
We have what I call a dynamic balance. If one would suddenly block the moving leg, we would fall.
Humanoids wiggle from side to side when they walk because of this, and they take too short steps.
This is also why humanoids walk half as fast as a human.
I ggess it takes a lot of precision and timing to do human walk. Our humanoids might just not have that yet.

Nah… all these claims are vastly exaggerated… i wont believe the 'robot revolution ' only, when i meet one in public space, and THAT will take still many many years… Don't get me wrong, these are impressive pieces of tech, but not advanced enough to get along human spaces

Bro. This is ( a month) old.
Boston Dynamics Atlas 01 is the best walker & runner now but it doesn't matter, they are all using the same NVIDIA training stack and will improve in all skills at a scary pace. Just as LLM , image synthesis & text to video have gotten.

Tesla said they can easily make Optimus movements fast and walk / move more human. But that is not what they are focusing on. They are focusing on the brain accpect of it. This tool commentator in the video makes it out like a humanoid robot walking like a human is the most important thing. Lol
