Hey everybody! Hope you liked this review of the new Brockhampton singles for their upcoming album, Ginger. This is the first time that I haven’t been crazy about the stuff they’ve released before a record. I Been Born Again and If You Pray Right are both pretty eh to me. What do you think??? "If you pray right" is 100% my taste. The trombone, the beat, I love everything about this track. Even one of my new favorites of all time

I honestly felt bad for disliking these tracks myself, and I shouldn’t feel that way. These guys are my favorite musicians and the part of me that’s not really vibing with their new stuff is being shut off by the rest of my brain. I just hope the rest of the album’s good. No hate btw, love this band♥️

you're not quite right about I BEEN BORN AGAIN tho. kevin's verse is not overall boring because of the beat. all parts of the beat are changing throughout his verse and that's what gives it diversity. short verses by dom and merlyn are interludes but together they sound like a complete full verse. joba's pitched down vocals is kinda perfect for the beat itself because the main things in this beat are bass and drums, all the instruments here just for the variation. his low pitched vocals goes well for the bass and the drums too. matt's outro and bearface intro was alright, that's when i agree with you.

Hate to be "that guy" but I feel as if Ameer's presence coulda elevated these songs to a higher level. These darker BH style beats always fit him well

I Been Born Again was just okay, I'd even say kinda disappointing, but If You Pray Right is amazing. My only gripe with Pray is that Matt's contribution to it is even less than on Born and even that wasn't very much at all, but at least it sorta added something. On Pray Matt is just like "hi bye"

Same here. I'm glad someone feels the same way as me, other people tried to shoot me down when I expressed the same things as you said. If anything I like "If you Pray right" more than "I Been Born Again"

Have you heard Yuna's new album? It's, imo, the best album she's had so far and that's saying something bc I like all of her work.
If not, I definitely recommend you check it out. It's got a lot more of assertive energy in it that I never heard much of from her till now and I think anyone, regardless of what genre you're into, can find something to like about it. From the lyrics to the melodies, it's definitely my favorite album of the year so far.

“I Been Born Again” was alright
It’s solid and it grew on me overtime, but overall, an odd choice for a first single.
“If You Pray Right” was awesome to me. The beat (especially the brass section) was actually one of my favorite parts. Personally, I was just as impressed as when I first heard SWEET and BOOGIE.

I agree with you about I been born again, it feel pretty mediocre. Although I think if you pray right is really good, everything from the lyrics to the beat, and trombone to me is like the best part. It just sound so goddamn goofy and I cant get enough of it!

I love Brockhampton but I agree on your thoughts. we even heard 2 snippets on a insta livestream from hk I think and they even performed a Song of this album on Stage.

The reason these songs are being picked is because the album has MANY MANY features in it, but they don't want to spoil it. That's why we are getting these songs as singles.
If you are feeling dissappointed by these songs, Wait for NO LOVE IN THE GHETTO and SUGAR…

I personally love If You Pray Right. The beat is great, the mix is great, and everyone is at the top of their game. I do agree that Matt’s verse could’ve been longer. I don’t know wtf they were thinking on the first single.

I like the brass section on if you pray right but I would've like merlyn to have a harder delivery.. the beat wasn't too overbearing on that song, Matt was just the only member that came right. Dom was cool but same story.
