EXTINKED: Dimetrodon | Ep. 3

Lindsay Nikole | August 17, 2025

Hello! Welcome to the third episode of EXTINKED, where I get 5 of my favorite extinct animals tattooed on me by one of my favorite tattoo artists, Angel Rose. Today we’re doing Dimetrodon: the iconic synapsid from the Permian. Enjoy!

A huge thanks to Gian for the fantastic editing!

This makes me want to get a stegosaurus tattoo ngl, since theyre my absolute fave dino. And a dimetrodon tattoo would be siiiick too, obviously. Theyre one of my fave prehistoric creatures after all, because of them being a stem-mammal and also just looking real cool

I’m been super busy when this video came out and I finally get to watch it!

Dimetrodon is my absolute favorite prehistoric animal. So much a favorite that no dinosaur comes close to it. I first met it when I was a kid playing Fossil Fighters Champions on the DS and Dimetro was my starter. Ever since then I’ve been trying to find it in every “dinosaur game.”

Your “Extinked” series has inspired me to get an Iguanodon fossil tattoo. It’s been my favorite since Disney’s Dinosaur (2000)! ❤️ Thanks Lindsay!

Your tattoo is sick, Lindsay 🤘🤘🤘
Growing up in the 80s, Dimetrodon was my favourite dinosaur 😊
Of course, it wasn't until years later I found out that they were around a long, long time before dinosaurs, but they're still the fkin coolest!

I guess whether dimetrodon is a reptile or not (and by extension, us) depends entirely whether you also want to include the common ancestor's of snakes and us that already didn't look like fish and were essentially terrestrial as "reptiles" or not. In other words, if you want to call all of repitiliomorpha "reptiles" or only reptilia. In other other words, do we want to also call "reptile" the reptile looking animals that never gave origin to anything non reptile like such as mammals in the extinct clade Diadectomorpha (sister reptiliomorpha clade to us amniotes) such as the genera Diadectes and Limnoscelis, or are we fine keeping them out of the label? If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, then yes, reptile; if the answer is no, then no, not reptile.

Considering that her content are supposedly "educational science videos," her abrasive manner of speaking, as well as her frequent use of cuss words is very unnecesary. If she wants to present like this, she should switch her focus on something more shallow like fashion/modeling content, rather than science. It sucks that we used to have good, passionate wildlife presenters, which have been mostly replaced by shallow internet personalities like her and Forrest Galante

You’re losing your audience a little bit. ( probs because I’m an old Fart that seen it all before “ allegedly ) anyways this was cool because of your energy + enthusiasm.. etc. but. This is really a show for 16 to 26 yr olds. Ok. Good presentation. Save the INK for older people nothing says more to a prospective employer. As a HAND COVERED IN INK . And peeping over the T Shirt a snake neck. Ok. . Yes yes Fck them corporate idiots but it’s easier to get inked then remove.. I’m from UK 1st tattoo -1978. Etc. but even I don’t have hands neck face ok.
