Thursday, July 17, 2025 – Where Trump finds support among Native Americans

Native Voice One | August 16, 2025

(https://www.nativeamericacalling.com/thursday-july-17-2025-where-trump-finds-support-among-native-americans/) A widely reported exit poll right after the 2024 presidential election greatly exaggerated the support (https://nativenewsonline.net/opinion/getting-the-native-vote-right-the-national-media-should-not-rely-on-self-identified-wannabes) for President Donald Trump by Native Americans. Native voters, by and large, lean Democrat (https://2024electionpoll.us/) , but it’s clear Native voters supported President Trump more than expected (https://www.city-journal.org/article/native-americans-shift-right) . And since the election, a handful of tribes and Native leaders continue to back the MAGA trend. Louisiana’s Tunica-Biloxi Tribe are among the institutions nominating Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize (https://www.tunicabiloxi.org/louisianas-tunica-biloxi-tribe-to-nominate-trump-for-nobel-peace-prize/) , citing his foreign policy and domestic economic agenda. We’ll hear from those who think Trump is moving Native interests in the right direction.

I voted for Trump, but I am concerned about some of his policies such as stringing oil lines across our lands and above our water rather than other less invasive land areas. I understand he is a businessman, but ecology and health safety concerns have need to be addressed as well. And what of the wild horses, bison, and other animals we need? What of safe, healthy buildings for our school children, and community centers? What about logging companies of our own people, to provide heat for our families and elderly in winters? What about our own people building our own homes, in our own way? What of the rampant suicide and drug addiction and abuse in our communities? Who from any of the DC governments have asked what is important and necessary to our People? They throw money to our greedy Council members who eat it up, parceling out pennies to the rest of us, keeping us enslaved to the dole of the government. About the so called Palestinians, I lived there for a while, and dated an Arab taxi driver who introduced me to many in his community. They were surprised I was not a "Stewardess" type, but like one of their sisters. They took me right into their hearts and shared something that they wanted me to share with Americans. They wanted me to tell everyone over here that if their family came across into Israel in order to challenge or try to take away "their" government, they would take up arms to the death to protect what they would have no where else in the middle east. As to Gaza, if anyone had googled weather or maps, they would have easily seen malls, swimming parks, etc. not what the media show of the corners where families are payed to stay in the squallar of detention camps for lengths of time. Now that the IDF has been rooting out the murderous terrorists of their own people, anyone can see where they have been exploiting hospitals, schools, worship centers, homes, playgrounds, etc. and hiding behind women, children, elderly and infirm. How can an honorable people claim partnership with such unhonorable cowards?
