Cornel West is intelligent. But he took advantage of his race to play Harvard, taking a year off on medical leave, while pursuing his "musical" career. When called out on it, he quit and went to Princeton. Now all he talks about is racism, racism, racism. Too bad.

When I was in college my Professor said that there was no original research out there. Anything that you write was already written by someone else. You have to cite sources,of course, but you can still be accused of plagiarism for saying hello.
Did anyone mention that Alan Dershowitz was accused of plagiarism. They sent the dean of the law school, Elena Kagan, to investigate. Of course she had him vindicated without an investigation.

I was born in 1947 and fit all the criteria he enumerates to be in a ruling class. I'm unaware that there is such a class. Different folks have different degrees of interest in public service, though.
As for this guy, he certainly fits in the complaining class.

Professor Cornell West, you have dedicated your life to planting the rotting seeds of victimhood identity into the hearts and minds of your students. This is looking backwards, and sabotaging any chance for humanity to grow, to imagine any narrative that places responsibility with the individual human to develop integrity and build a life on merit, on excellence without “color” code, or ever to achieve cooperation, love, and peace.
