Otters, fall, and a beaver dam in Northern Minnesota
If you like otters, then you will probably like this video. If you don’t like otters, get help…something is wrong with you.
These otters frequently crossed this large beaver dam last fall before this beaver pond froze over…and the otters were kind enough to do a few poop dances in front of the camera for us!
Other than otters, we did not get tons of other wildlife using this dam unfortunately! But, we did get one really neat shot of the entire Lightfoot Pack crossing this dam late last fall! A valuable observation that was helpful for our wolf pack and population estimates.

When I was about Ten years old, I was in Grand Marais Minnesota with my family. I threw a fit because I didn't want any of the food at a fancy restaurant my mom brought our family too, so she kicked me out of the restaurant to fend for myself for a couple hours! The restaurant was located next to a dock on Lake Superior, I was feeling bad about my situation cursing my mom while I was walking up and down the dock. All of a sudden, a river otter came out of nowhere and hung out with me the whole time my family was eating in the restaurant. It's almost like he was trying to cheer me up! I'll never forget my little furry buddy as long as I live.

I have never seen a Otter in the wild, living in Michigan it’s pretty wild still in most of the state but I have seen Beavers and Muskats but never a otter.

Once again its a popular spot to pass by to cross the pond. Interesting smells from the otters point of view. Thank you for the post
