I'd say Orangs are too smart to be kept in zoos….except for the fact they clearly don't mind as long as they're treated right. Which honestly, "wise enough not to speak" carries more weight when you consider that.

Oooohh fascinating. I will have to say conspiracy and motives of a species similar but different than us , gets my homicide hunter antennae up. It would be fun to see a ape true crime observation murder mystery show 😂

I remember seeing some documentary ages back on palm oil plantations and how they are a leading cause of habitat loss. Been avoiding it when I can since. Peanut butter was the main thing I had to switch up, but I check all food and cosmetics on reflex now.

I am really sad that my govt didn't care about orangutan AT ALL 😢. They care more about profits than these clever creatures 😔. Only stupid president who would build a new capital city while sacrificing those jungles and not building it well so that the govt itself not wanting to move there AND another stupid president who said that "palm tree is just as same as forest tree" 😠. Oh God please save us humans and wildlives of this freaking illogical country :(((

I lived and worked in the jungles of Borneo for two years. We were visited daily bu a mother Orang and her baby. We did not provide them with food. We showed them love and they visited out of curiosity.
We loved them both. Ultimately the Indonesian government finished their Orang sanctuary. It was a sad day when they picked Ataka and little Frankie up. Bless these gentle creatures. I never heard either make a sound.

Honestly, I liked the video as soon as your voice started. I know it’s gonna be good. You always put out consistent bangers. Can’t wait for the good – nay – incredible story!

One day, we would get smart enough to keep only animals for a good reason in zoos ! I can tell you : ouragoutans need to be entertained 24/7. There are animals, like the red pandas, they get along preaty well with a huge real estate made for their pleasure in a zoo. Because they sleep A LOT ! Then they eat and….. they play befor a nap. But apes ? No way !
I live in Paris close to the Museum of Natural History….. and one my close friend's is the Vegetation and Plants Director, he's in charge with finding plants the animals can chew and ingest without problems. He is crazy with this orangoutans. When he is closing the cage, they all are coming right at him. He is crasy enough to get into the cage and and play ball games with them.
One day, the crew changed the light bulbs : the orangoutans put their hands on the screws. 24 hours laters they had to trade image books , cartoons and pencils, brushes and water painting and t-shirts and shiny cloths to get the light bulds back.😂 Yep they have seen the crew painting walls around. And made such a fuss ! Finaly my friend brought them brushes and huge chuncks off card bord and for the first time they got concentrated fruit juices for colors … when it became clear that colored water was PAINT ! they got access to real paint and huge craft paper rolls.
Man ! You will get bored and exhausted before the apes if you want to play to keep them happy.

Hmm. Not sure how I feel about this.

I think that this is learned.

Sure instinct may have driven them this far. But there are parts of this I don’t suspect have anything to do with “nature”.
