Sahel: Inside the Resistance | ENDEVR Documentary

Watch The Secrets of Mauritania: Immigration and the Battle Against Slavery: https://youtu.be/XlhLuLiHUBI

The Sahel, a vast region south of the Sahara, is slipping further into chaos as terrorist groups tighten their grip. Daily jihadist attacks—raids, murders, and bombings—are pushing the region toward an explosive crisis. With struggling African armies and France scaling back its military support, local communities are left to fend for themselves.

In the heart of Mali’s Dogon homeland, our team is embedded with the Dan Na Ambassagou militia—1,000 men armed with outdated rifles and fortified by traditional magic. Against them stand Islamist extremists wielding Kalashnikovs and rocket launchers. These warriors, the last defenders of 300,000 Dogon people, fight in brutal conditions: 45-degree heat, scarce water, and little food.

Near Mopti, we gained rare access to four jihadist deserters, uncovering their recruitment tactics and revealing unexpected aspects of their daily lives.

Our journey then took us to Mauritania, a beacon of resistance against terror. There, we witnessed the elite Special Intervention Groups (GSI) tracking and eliminating jihadist cells along the Malian border with light aircraft and ground forces. Even deep in the desert, Mauritania’s specialized police patrols on dromedaries, gathering intelligence from nomadic tribes.

This film offers an immersive look at an escalating war—where frontlines shift, alliances blur, and jihadist influence knows no borders.

Terrorist groups continue to extend their hold on Sahel, a region the size of Europe which lies south of the Sahara. Jihadist incursions happen daily, including terrorist attacks, murders, and raids on villages. The situation is increasingly explosive. Armies from African nations are struggling to hold ground, which leaves entire areas undefended, and the French have decided to reduce their military support to the region. As a result, local people have been forced to take up arms to defend themselves.

The France presence was the main reason the terrorists were able to take root in Mali and the Sahel region as a whole. The imperialist French nation was ill-equiping the Malian military.

Religion is a real problem allover the world. Salafism is the Islamic version of Puritanism. The mechanism of action of religions is the same, the only difference is the contents.

They must dye their cloth with the red soil of that region. The militia uniform has gotta be the most accurately matched camoflage color I have ever seen.
They hold still and disappear. They looks like a bunch of rocks walking around. Brilliant.

One can smell the CIA for miles around. All such documentaries never go beyond what shows.
The narrative ends up like an elementary school teacher type hogwash. Check if the CIA is funding your channel itself?
