🎹 The Flashbulb – Seven Quarantine Poems [solo jazz piano]

Benn Jordan | August 6, 2025

Album here: https://theflashbulb.bandcamp.com/album/seven-quarantine-poems
I’ve already gotten some requests for a visualization or score of this album, so I whipped this up. Usually this type of stuff goes on my “The Flashbulb” channel, however I am plagued by copyright strikes for my own material there and have won the battle for clearance on this channel. 🙄 So, enjoy. 😊

I don’t think I’ll release the score itself. Due to the nature of this type of music, I’d rather my piano-playing listeners used this, or chord charts (that I could provide in the future) and improvised in their own direction rather than playing it verbatim. I’d much rather hear that and I’d bet most people would agree!
Back to our normal scheduled programming…

As a guitar player I find gorgeous piano playing such as this absolutely mystifying. ❤

The algorithm just recently revealed both of your channels to me. However, does that mean you’ve been released or I’ve been captured. 😂❤🇨🇦

Oh, my goodness. I had no idea that you were a jazz pianist. This is giving me wicked Bill Evans vibes. You definitely have a sound all of your own, though. Here is an undoubted new go-to for me. Thanks, once again, for all of the incredible work you do! It is beyond inspiring.

You have a very similar playing style to me. This helps me see the kind of things I could produce if I really practiced and kept learning. It's very inspiring. Thanks for being you man.

Jack Antonoff must be a big fan of your music. My girlfriend shows me a song of Taylor Swift called "seven" and it reminds me on some of your productions…

There aren't sentiments to properly convey how much I love this, so here are a couple words strung together for this comment section.
I plan on slowing this down and learning a bit of the 4th poem. It left me sockless 🧦🥺….😍

Wait, WHAT? You are The Flashbulb?

Omg, I have to sit down for this. Soundtrack to a Vacant Life was my goto study music back in '08. I must've played that album 100's of times..

Jesus Christ. How did I just re-discover you a few months ago and not even know it?

You were in quarantine? Really? For what? Where?

You don't mean the stay-at-home prudence thing for Covid-19, do you? I mean, I both fear and hope you do.

Good music, in any case, and pleasing use of the usually unappealing (in, say, mobile-DAW apps) vertical piano-roll. Thanks for sharing it.

Be well – and may you not need to be quarantined.

I was about to ask you to stop being so good at stuff, but considering you've already intentionally subjected yourself to head injury and this is still what comes out I GUESS we're all going to have to continue to be enriched by your work
