I Live 500 Feet From A Bitcoin Mine. My Life Is Hell.

We went to a small Texas town where one Bitcoin mining facility uses as much power as the entire city of Austin.
Everyone is town is affected by the constant noise from the crypto facility, even the animals.
One resident told us: “Every person here is sick.”

    so it's okay if it happens somewhere else, but not in your backyard.. don't they see the fallacy in that viewpoint. the only clever thing about Bitcoin, is as a rogue AI, would use it : to hide it's footprint. for the rest, it's just not efficient in anyway how it is right now.

    So we are going to stop minting pennies because they are too expensive? But these Fentanyl-bucks are OK? That's right folks, digital currency is used to launder money and do illegal transactions that cannot be traced. It is a criminal's dream. No wonder boss Trump loves it.

    It's bizzare to me how Americans don't understand that if a politician you support does nothing to help you, you shouldn't be supporting them. Also bizzare how they know first hand how harmful bitcoin mining is but refuse to condemn it. The dissonance is crazy.

    More left wing communist propaganda by people who never studied bitcoin trying to tell you why it's bad. Bitcoin mining isn't "solving complex math problems." It's a race at making 100,000,000,000,000,000,000+ guesses per second. It's not complicated. It's just a lot of work.

    If we have the genius to create BitCoin in the first place, surely we have the genius to reduce it's power and water consumption, and reduce the noise the machines make.

    They need to figure out how to block that noise because millions of people benefit from Bitcoin mining it doesn't matter who mines it its math and incorruptible this is the beauty of it , all miners are processing transactions and securing the system at the same time and anyone an be a part of that system Its a decentralised incorruptible financial system that is out of the hands of the government and a hedge to the feds paper money they keep inflating … if you exchange your dollars to bitcoin put it into a Bitcoin wallet then have the same Dollar amount in a Banks savings account then check back a few years later you will then find out why Bitcoin benefits the people you just tripled your money while sleeping while your Dollar stayed the same and buys less your Bitcoin stack buys 3x more. Someone needs to help these people put some money into bitcoin

    local resident Theresa Hibbitts says the lake dries up every 4-5 years. okay….is there maybe a better source we can get on that? ….???
    I guess if this is meant to be storytelling rather than a narrative it makes sense. this is not journalism though
