I thought (wrongly…) i recognized Paulina Vilarreal in the thumbnail. She truly is an amazing singer, with a very clear, beautiful and eff'n powerful voice. To be fair, i haven't heard her do any 'alien' stuff like the folks you showcased here (whith thanks! Amazing and interesting stuff). No, Pau is incredible because she can sing like the best vocalists out there, while pounding the drums like a beast. 🤯 Check The Warning's 'Dust To Dust', 'Disciple', '23', 'Survive', … Oh! And there's an utterly incredible moment-of-Pauwer in 'Evolve'… You'll want to see/hear/experience that, i reckon.

Janis Joplin used to do the two voices thing like the first woman was doing it. She learned it just by messing around with blues music when she was a teenager. That's one of the reasons it's so hard to sing along with her songs if you are attempting to sing like her (trust me….teenage drunk me tried everything to sound like Janis….sober me knew better….😂).
Objectively I know Mariah Carey has an incredible voice but since my early childhood, her voice has just annoyed me. lmao

5:50 That's not vocal fry, though. It's false cord. They can sometimes sound similar but there's no way she's using fry (and she said so herself).

A certain amount of the sound from the chick from Jinger is studio effects. Her live voice is comparable, and admittedly admirable, but nowhere near what that video sounds like.

OK Mr. Hawkins. I have been listening to a lot of beatboxing of late and if you want to hear polyphonic signing excellence you must see the song 'Feels Like nothing by the Malaysian beatboxer named Stitch.

I guess the poly tone comes with whistling while making an "oooh" sound, since the tones are created at different places. Just whistling (first tone, than add your voice like an oooh, the air flow will still create the first tone
