fun fact spinnin records was an electronic label known for hits like stereo love nor the martin garrix song before moving out to another record label (stmpd records) oh and also showtek worked on hit 2013 electronic song booyah which also a spinnin records label owned hits

1:43 I can't think of Li'l John without hearing Dave Chapelle doing his impression of him going "OKAY!" "WHAT?!" and "YEAH?!"
8:40 I 'member Carlos Santana teaming up with other artists and pop acts back then, and where I live, Santana's a living legend. IMO, the best track in that album is the one he did with the Matchbox 20 guy.

I know im late, but can we talk about gow weak the premise behind the Rihanna song is?

"When I'm you all i get is wild thoughts" ooOooOOOoooOo, you give Rihanna wild thoughts!

I don't get it, it's just so lame. Being around this person doesn't mean they find the nearest room and bang each others brains out, it just means they get… horny i guess.

Dirty, nasty, freaky.. these are all words that would have been infinitely better. But I guess Rihanna couldn't incomprehensibly slur those words the same way so they were off the table.

P.S. also there's some weird incestuous implications to the line: "Just keep it white and black as if I'm ya *sista*"
but that's a whole other discussion

"Sometime soon, they're gonna, sample, like 'Hey Ya' or 'Since U Been Gone,' and I'm just gonna quit. You won't even get a goodbye. I'm just gone."

I came here to say that the #1 song in the country right now is one that samples "Glamorous" by Fergie. I know it's not as beloved as those two songs, but my point is it's NEWER than those two songs. The idea of a song from the late 2000s being used for a sample is kind of unsettling.
