Since we actually live in a nightmarish dystopian world, our soul knows we are supposed to save THIS world, not the fictional world on our RPG

In my 40"s still play first-person shooters. Have done since playing doom on my old dx400 PC😮. Some of my online friends are older. One is 67 and is our tanker driver 😂.
I've always set rules for myself around gaming. Everything else must be done, like dishes and gardens, which must be done and general housework. And sometimes I'll take a month or so off.
And I only jump on at a set time and off at a set time. But if the Sun is out, then im outside enjoying family time rather than gaming.

Applies to any hobby activity – worries and anxiety ruin it. Also lack of sleep makes you tired in front of the screen quickly. Gaming to many seems as a cheap, low-effort activity in a day-to-day routine that is densely scheduled, so it tends to be the first thing that gets replaced by physical activity.

Its not getting older that has ruined games. its imaginative creative thinking, story telling, and problem solving. Why gamers are bored as they are older is because new games aren't interesting or offering new puzzles or challenges, in fact, games have gone more in the lazy direction of AFK playing, instead of offering something stimulating for the mind to process. We simply lack effort these days and thats why gamers are bored with games, we have already played it 5 times and it was great or the game simply didn't offer us anything that we haven't already experienced in a different game. ITS NOT US, its that games are cheap, crappy and focus way too much on graphic design and dei BULLSHI. So we are just left bored with them. FACTS. New gamer's that are old and never gamed, they have YEARS to explore of games that we have already crushed and are just burned out of…. your take is apparently a word that doesn't have a proper existence MINOOT or MY-NOOT…. how silly

Is this one of those things that I'm not ADHD enough to get? When I fire up a videogame, that is my entire focus for the next several hours unless I'm in that weird headspace where nothing is entertaining because it's getting late enough in the evening that I need to start thinking about going to bed.

I was bored with gaming because I was always playing the same types of games. I was mostly just playing Triple A games and nothing else.
Once I started to play some different, I felt that spark again.

As someone who started on the Atari 2600 it's hard to find new and fresh gameplay that is well executed. Most new game studios are led by people who don't even enjoy video games.
