The director of Cannibal Holocaust was also dragged into court and was going to charged with murder. As they actually believed the actors were killed for real. But when they all showed up in court all charges were dismissed. And the movie is easily available in the USA, just check out some of the free streaming services. And Cannibal Holocaust is the grandaddy of all found footage films. And the director later apologized for all the real animal killings.
