Carla Harvey Debuts The Violent Hour with Empowering New Single “Sick Ones”

By [Your Name]

In a bold move that marks a new chapter in her career, former Butcher Babies frontwoman Carla Harvey has unleashed “Sick Ones,” the inaugural single from her new project, The Violent Hour. Featuring drumming powerhouse Charlie Benante of Anthrax and Pantera and Mötley Crüe’s virtuoso guitarist John 5, the track is a hard-hitting anthem aimed at severing toxic ties and reclaiming personal power.

“I wrote ‘Sick Ones’ during a vulnerable phase in my life when I had to make the tough call to let go of relationships I thought would last forever,” Harvey revealed in a recent interview. The song’s essence, she explains, is all about liberation—a fist-to-the-face for anyone who has tried to hold you down or dim your light.

Benante adds, “This track has a modernized NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) vibe, delivering a catchy riff that sticks in your head. It’s just the tip of the iceberg for The Violent Hour, showcasing a new sonic direction for Carla that’s unlike anything she’s done as a vocalist.”

The accompanying music video, crafted by Harvey and directed by Vicente Cordero, illustrates her distinctive vision, featuring the singer inhabiting five diverse personas. “While ‘Sick Ones’ is about cutting toxic people out of your life, I wanted to flip that narrative in the video,” she states. “Sometimes, the most dangerous person to confront is yourself. This visual journey explores confronting those darker reflections of who we’ve been and whether we can coexist with them peacefully.”

In addition to launching The Violent Hour, Harvey recently took on the role of lead vocalist for the legendary industrial-dance band Lords of Acid. With a new U.S. tour set to kick off on May 27 in San Francisco, fans will have the chance to experience her electrifying stage presence in overdrive.

As she embarks on this new path, Harvey’s “Sick Ones” serves not only as a fierce declaration of independence but also as a tantalizing teaser of what’s to come from The Violent Hour.
