Originating in the creative hub of Phoenix Central Park in Sydney, Gordi set up a makeshift studio, surrounded by a circle of eclectic instruments. After transitioning from the vibrant Australian scene to the heart of the American Midwest, Gordi and Cook breathed life into her work, fine-tuning the album’s final cuts in Durham, North Carolina. The collaborative vibe was palpable, with drummer Matt McCaughan contributing his rhythmic prowess, while Gordi and Cook fleshed out the sonic landscape. Their chemistry, solidified during their time together on Justin Vernon’s Big Red Machine project, translates effortlessly into this latest offering.
