Generalized Penrose Tilings
One way to generate the Penrose tiling is to embed a 2D plane into 5D space and project onto that plane the 5D lattice points which are sufficiently near that plane. These animations show the tilings which are generated when the plane undergoes rotations in 5D space.
These animations were created by QGR’s Dugan Hammock, a geometer who also specializes in creating animations of complex mathematical models.
