Moin Set to Drop New EP ‘Belly Up’ Through AD 93
Moin Announce New EP Belly Up Featuring Collaborations with Ben Vince and Sophia Al-Maria
Moin, the avant-garde trio known for their genre-blurring sonic explorations, have unveiled plans for their new EP, Belly Up, set to be released on May 9, 2025, through the UK label AD 93. Following the critical acclaim of their 2023 project, You Never End, which secured a spot in the top three of The Quietus’ albums of the year list, expectations are high for this fresh offering.
The six-track EP promises to push the boundaries further, featuring contributions from saxophonist Ben Vince and artist-writer Sophia Al-Maria. Al-Maria, who also lent her voice and vision to You Never End, returns to deliver her evocative touch to the new material. Two tracks have already made their way into the world: ‘See’ — a collaborative interplay that combines rich melodies and abstract textural layers — and ‘X.U.Y.’, which showcases the trio’s intricate rhythmic prowess.
Moin is comprised of Raime’s Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead, alongside accomplished percussionist Valentina Magaletti. Each member brings a distinctive influence to the group, creating an enigmatic soundscape that resonates deeply and invites repeated listens. Their previous works — including 2020’s Moot! and the 2022 EP Paste — set a high bar for experimental music, but Belly Up appears poised to elevate their vision even further.
Listeners can already experience the two newly released tracks via the band’s Bandcamp page. As Moin continues to evolve their artistry, Belly Up stands as yet another milestone in their ever-expanding discography.
For those eager to dive into this next chapter of Moin’s sonic journey, stay tuned for the release on May 9, and prepare for a fusion of sound that defies the conventional.
