Bruce Springsteen Announces Tracks II: The Lost Albums with Seven Unreleased Collections

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the rock world, Bruce Springsteen has officially unveiled Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a colossal new anthology that features seven albums of previously unreleased material spanning from 1983 to 2018. Scheduled for release on June 27, this eagerly awaited collection boasts a staggering 82 unheard tracks, of which 74 are making their public debut.

Among the gems included in Tracks II are the LA Garage Sessions ’83, a raw snapshot of the creative fervor that birthed the iconic Born in the U.S.A., and the Streets of Philadelphia Sessions, which features tracks aligned with the hauntingly beautiful "Streets of Philadelphia" from the 1993 film of the same name. Other highlights include Faithless, originally intended for a film project, and the mysterious Perfect World, which Springsteen himself describes as a “lost album."

To whet the appetite of fans eagerly counting down the days until the release, the Boss has gifted us with the track “Rain in the River” from Perfect World, a bittersweet reverie that rings with Springsteen’s signature poignancy. The single encapsulates the very essence of what makes Springsteen the quintessential American bard, pausing to reflect on heartbreak and hope in equal measure.

In an interview, Springsteen shared that the global pandemic provided him with an unexpected opportunity to dig deep into his vault and finish the treasure trove of projects that had accumulated over the decades. "I had all this music that had been waiting for its moment," he said. "The time felt right to bring it all out and share it."

Tracks II will be released in lavish form, available in a nine-LP vinyl box set and a seven-disc CD box set, while also being offered in a digital format. Additionally, a companion release titled Lost And Found: Selections from The Lost Albums will feature handpicked tracks from this extensive collection, available in both vinyl and CD.

Springsteen’s first Tracks collection, released back in 1998, set the bar incredibly high for posthumous releases, showcasing previously unheard material from his prolific career. With Tracks II: The Lost Albums, he aims to not only exceed those expectations but redefine what it means to rediscover an artist’s work long after the curtain falls.

As anticipation continues to build, it’s clear that the heart of New Jersey’s finest continues to beat strong. With Tracks II, Bruce Springsteen invites listeners to journey through the corridors of his creative evolution, reminding us all why he remains a titan of American music. Mark your calendars for June 27, and get ready to dive into the long-hidden treasures of The Boss.
