Huge bears captured on trail cameras in Minnesota

Voyageurs Wolf Project | February 13, 2025

Check out these monster bears we captured on camera in April and May of this year. They are HUGE even after coming out of hibernation…we can only imagine how big they are right about now!

Some people, like those folks at Katmai, are very insensitive and call these kind of bears “fat”. That hurts the bears feelings.

We prefer to use more appropriate, culturally sensitive descriptors like “heroically-proportioned”, “gravitationally-challenged”, “ground shakers”, “belly draggers”, and “corpulent”.

According to the bears themselves, here are some politically-correct generic names you can use to refer to high-calorie bears such as those in this video: “chunk-a-lunks”, “chubsters”, “adipose angels”, and “landwhales”.

We are happy we could provide an educational moment for everyone today.
