The Little Shoepack Trail: Winter 2024
Highlights of the wildlife observed on a small trail over a 6 month period from last fall to this spring. In particular, we captured some great footage of the Listening Point Pack and the Mithrandir Pack on this camera.
The Listening Point Pack was 5 pack members (3 adults and two pups) and these are the wolves in most of the footage in this video. You can see two of the adults (the breeding male and a subordinate adult male) several times as well as the two pups. The December 2nd footage gives a great clear view of all 4 of these wolves.
In two instances, it appears the Listening Point Pack killed deer near this camera as wolves were carrying deer legs past the camera on Jan 10 and Mar 3.
The Mithrandir Pack was just a breeding pair last winter. You can see these wolves on November 11 and 20, and April 15. This area is on the periphery of their territory so not surprising we did not have many observations of them in this spot.
