LCD Soundsystem is one of the most important and influential indie bands of the 21st century. Their meteoric rise to popularity, in despite of James Murphy’s own self-doubt and battle with relevance, was a sight to behold. However, after blessing the world with hits like Daft Punk is Playing At My House, Someone Great, Losing My Edge, All My Friends, Dance Yrself Clean, etc…it was that same battle with relevance that sent the band into a premature exit. And then a reemergence. And then kind of another exit? It’s hard to tell. What’s a legacy? Does it matter? Again, kinda hard to tell.
