LEMON DROP: Midterm History! Keisha Lance Bottoms & Wes Moore Reflect on Historic Election Wins

Don Lemon | November 7, 2026

Political barriers have been broken and America’s leadership is entering a new chapter.

Don speaks with two history-making leaders: Georgia Governor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms, the first Black woman ever elected governor in American history, and Maryland Governor Wes Moore, who has secured a second term.

As a record five Black governors prepare to serve simultaneously for the first time, Bottoms and Moore reflect on the significance of this historic moment, the barriers they’ve overcome, and what their victories mean for the next generation.

They also discuss Donald Trump’s midterm defeat, the future of Democratic leadership, and the responsibility of turning historic electoral victories into meaningful change.

GUESTS: Keisha Lance Bottoms, Wes Moore

I'm a GenX black man from Milledgeville GA and the Southside of Milledgeville is a bunch of mobil homes, pine trees and red clay. If nothing gets any better what's the point of the first black woman governor?
