Dems DELIVERED in Historic Midterm Victory That REBUKED Trump & MAGA
Dems won big on Tuesday, and Leigh McGowan (PoliticsGirl) joins Erin to break down the results. They celebrate the blue tsunami, victories down the ballot, and the downfall of many fucking guys. Then they discuss how Dems can navigate their new majority in Trump’s veto-state and the path to tangible change. They wrap up in the sanity corner to discuss the WNBA Championships and the new rules for Woketopia.

I agree! We should pick off the people around Trump and just leave him there untouched with no news coverage and no attention. He will be begging for a scandal, for impeachment, etc.

When I lived and voted in Toledo, Ohio – 1968 to 2008 – polling places in churches, schools, and union halls had food. Just outside the voting space, the school’s PTA, the Altar Society, and the organizing committee set up bakeries sales, had lunch plates, etc. One church sold a plate with a sloppy joe, potato salad, and coleslaw. They sold pie by the slice, cookies, cake, banana bread, etc. wWhen I moved to Indiana, and I voted at à Nazarene church, I asked where was the bake sale. They looked at me like I was demented. I checked, and there was no law against it. They jus5 didn’t do it. Indiana so probably didn’t want people to enjoy voting.
I endorse food trucks! Thanks to Leigh for mentioning this!

Accountability is at the basis of a functioning democracy. What good are representatives of the people if they are stealing from us?

fact check: Niagara Falls appeared blue following the U.S. midterm elections not as a political statement, but because the lights were officially scheduled to shine teal for Alzheimer's Awareness Month. But I'm sure Canada is pleased with our election results.

I was really enjoying the episode when again they start showing El Sayed and Islam in a positive light – I hope and pray the rest of the Dems can keep his radical side in check. I feel for Michigan voters who had two terrible options.

My kids have voted every year since they turned 18. My parents taught me right and I passed it on. I’ve not skipped a ballot since I turned 18 in 1992 and every election and ballot measure matters. Every single one.

1. Impeachments and investigations all 'round.
2. Un-castrate the Civil Right Act.
3. Constitutional amendment to guarantee the Right to Choose. It won't pass, and, if it does, it won't be ratified, but at least it'll stick it to the chuds a little.

So for Texas part of the reason it went as blue as it did was because there was a significant effort in helping people overcome voter suppression. People were coming out to communities to let people know if they had wrongly been kicked off voter roles, they were helping people overcome the bureaucratic hurdles to getting a photo id for people who don’t have all of the documents necessary (ie flood survivors, people not born in a hospital, etc)
Like people people also were fed up and that was a factor but without the efforts to get disenfranchised people their ability to vote it wouldn’t have been as blue as it was

Chuckles and Hakeem have to go. There are no friends or colleagues on the other side of the aisle. We didn't elect these great candidates to see them have to follow Dems current non-leadership.

People need to see that actions have consequences. Stephen Miller, Elon Musk, Pete Hegseth, RFK Jr. etc need to be held accountable so future weasels think twice.

Speaking as a trans woman, I must say that I have NEVER been in favor of "transgender for everyone" (whatever the hell THAT is supposed to mean…) but I AM in favor of NUREMBURG FOR EVERYONE, when it comes to the restoration of justice, the rule of law, and the criminal prosecution of all of the treasonous murderers and thieves who have colluded in the crimes of the Trump Cartel!! Nuremburg for ALL OF THEM.

Our local polling place (San Antonio) has express lines for elderly and disabled. I didn't really know about it until I had my dad on a walker back in 2020 and they asked us both to skip the line and go in. They ladies call to the desk to tell them you are skipping the line.
My husband and I have early voted and gone to vote for local (school board) races and seen them wheel out the mobile booth to the parking lot for those that can't get out of the car.
Last week we watched an older couple come in. The husband could not stand for extended time so they brought him a chair and got him settled at the next open booth with his chair. They only asked that his wife sit on the other side of the room and they would help him if needed so they could insure she wasn't telling him how to vote. You can bring in paper cheat sheets for the dozens of races on the ballot.
Texas. Sometimes we do the right thing! Go BLUE TEXAS!!!

The sad thing is we are like that in many places. Last night we only won in Mississippi by 65 votes. This morning, along with Alaska, it was too close to call. Alaska Dems were ahead by around 600 votes.
