I like repeat lead characters who play a different characters in a later episode. Are they the killer this time? or victim maybe? Not shore if you've done that video.
Or before they hit the big time, is George Clooney the biggest rise to stardom from MSR? Who was the biggest star of all in the show? Did they kill or be killed?

Imagine my pure delight to find this channel. All my favorite things rolled up into one. Murder She Wrote AND Columbo. Are you kidding me? I'm 55 and those have been my comfort shows since i have been a teen. Nothing better than a cozy sick day with some Campbell's soup, snuggled up under blankets on the couch and either one of those shows. Perfection. May I suggest Matlock? Another great comfort show. The quick funny references are so specific they have me actually laughing out loud like a maniac. Anyway, I can't tell you how HAPPY I am to find this channel. Especially in this current fascist takeover over our country. I need a little break from the horror sometimes. Thank you โคโคโค

Old computer guy here… The lab looks to be full of IBM PS/2 model 50 computers (80286 10MHz I think). The model 30 had a similar profile but there was no front grate and the 3.5" floppy drive was more to the right (farther from the IBM logo). Outside chance they're model 70s (80386 – woot!), but IIRC they were a little bit taller and had an extra grate on the front just below the logo. These look to have one grate the entire width, which is more like the 50.

Looking at the "lab", they did see fit to include power cords and power strips, but the keyboard goes into a gap in the case instead of plugging into the appropriate connector on the motherboard. The noticeable lack of cards also makes me suspect that these are props sans motherboards. Oh, the horror! Also, the monitors look to be connected via either a BNC or RCA connection and not either 9 pin monochrome ("Hercules") or CGA. They're probably getting source video from elsewhere and are adjusted to sync smoothly with the cameras. They keyboards look to be authentic IBM, which were absolute tanks — heavy, sturdy, and more than capable of being a murder weapon and continue working afterwards.

Jessica's computer isn't an IBM and sports dual floppy drives (one 5.25" and one 3.5"). Not sure exactly what it is, though it features sideways (horizontal) add-on cards, which wasn't as big of a thing in traditional "clones" and showed up more on some brand name devices of the time. Plus the logo is awkwardly blacked-out in the lower left of the case, also pointing to a more major brand and not a no-name clone. I'll post again if my memory dredges up a better recollection. Her monitor is definitely more reminiscent of CGA (or even early VGA) monitors of the time. Big, heavy, and generally cumbersome, especially compared to the downright dainty monochrome offerings in the "lab".

Does anyone find it odd how many computer episodes there are in season eight? There's this one and apparently according to a episode description I read Cabot Cove has its own computer company a few episodes later.

Edit: Also if the episode descriptions I'm reading are correct season 8 was awesome. Separate Jess and the KGB and Jess and British Intelligence episodes, two computer episodes, and Jess invents her own Clue type game.

I never got to watch these when I was young & BOTH my parents complained about it.๐Ÿ˜• Had to wait until I was in my 40's & could afford a DVD player & rent msw. Watched them with my daughter who by than was a teenager. She LOVED the show! Even beebopped to the theme music which I also enjoy. There's enough trouble in the world, rather watch something with a happy tone than a murder mystery with depressing or doomsday music!
