Stand-up comedian Ben Moore defends a movie from the past that hasn’t aged well, while explaining the plot to his much younger friend Jordan Elias (who hasn’t seen it). Hilarity ensues.

i remenber seeing this movie when i was a kid, thinking it was pretty dumb how she accepts the guy anyway and finding the ending a bit confusing, if i rewatch i will probably understand why and probably hate parts of it haha.

………… THE FCK DO YOU MEAN THAT'S WHAT THE MOVIE IS ABOUT?!
For decades I never knew the movie was about that. I just assumed it was YET another rom-com with Hanks and Ryan to capitalize on the popularity of their original pairing but I noticed people didn't react to kindly to this one. NOW I KNOW WHY!

The movie could have been very different if he was working behind the scenes to save her book shop or at LEAST turn it into the kids version of Fox Books. It is absolutely bonkers as is.

Wow, a movie called "You'e Got Mail" and not a single paperclip in the comments section (as of 10/17/2026 9:18am EST at least). Fucking phenomenal.

These are so good but since we're on Meg Ryan here…please, omfg please, do one for City of Angels!! That is such a ridiculous movie… the whole plot, Nic Cage's exaggerated acting, their use of Sarah McLachlan before it was synonymous with an ASPCA commercial. There is so much fodder for background guy's laughter there! Please, please do it!

You guys should do White Dog. It's about a racist dog who hooks up with Kristy McNichol.

My grandma and I chose this one for movie night a few weeks ago and ended up in a heated debate where I tried to explain to her how insidious Tom Hanks' character is and she just didn't get it so this makes me feel very vindicated lol. (Similar thing happened with our respective feelings about Cary Grant's character in the Philadelphia Story)

I hated this movie just because of the aol reference. If you were around back then you know that was annoying af
