As a long time fan of Floor and Nightwish respectfully, this news wasn't surprising and I'm actually glad she is free to do what she wants now. All of the former Nightwish vocalists have awesome solo careers. She already has a ton of music from her previous bands too. Been listening to her since After Forever days. Really enjoying her solo music too. Nightwish drama is nothing new so I just sit back and let it blow over.

"If it's Nordic Folk, metalheads don't seem to mind"….lol so true. I adore Wardruna and Heilung (German, not Nordic, but close enough) and somehow they are perfectly, acceptably at least metal adjacent. What is it about Nordic Folk? How is it still somehow so metal, without technically being metal???

Not a Nightwiah fan BUT…. I just want to say thanks for not being like every other pathetic channel jumping on the JH Metallica garbage just to get views! I know you do Metal news now and I respect that but Floor leaving a prominent band like Nightwish is actually real news!

Great selection, Jon ! will investigate on those I never heard of, on top of some OG's…PS : really digging Mother of Graves which seems to integrate some beloved melodies of early Katatonia & October Tide, though at the same time other early Draconian vibes, amazing…am I dreaming ?

The new singer of Nightwish will be Loren Lion, better known as Little Tresure, a singer I havent't heard about yet. This information comes from 'Power Metal, so I think it is true although there is no official announcement yet.
To me I guess Nightwish is mostly done, but I am very much looking forward to Floor's solo stuff, which I already got tickets of her new tour.
Greetings from Germany

Did you roast Gloryhammer? 😂 I confess to listening to the album all the way through this morning on Spotify, out of curiosity. It felt like anime music or a Broadway show. Nothing wrong with either of those things, but it wasn’t m/ m/. I doubt that I will be revisiting, but I never make musical promises because I don’t know what my mood will be tomorrow.

Temperance hitting a win, again. There is good reason a lot of power metal fans love Temperance and will tell people to listen to them a lot. Damned good band, and this new album is 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘
Yeah. Gloryhammer, even putting aside their behaviour, it's a joke that has gone on for far too long, and should have been laid to rest a while ago, even before the revelations of their past behaviour was revealed. Just a tired joke being milked for far longer than it stopped being funny.

I've been listening to Nightwish since 2004, this is their third lead vocalist change I'm experiencing in real life, so I'm just sitting here with popcorn. And blasting the new Insomnium, those guys are experts on authentic sounding, beautiful melodeath. Can't wait to see them again in January.

Just started getting into metal this last year. Almost have the full deftones discography on cd just 4 left to buy. So far they are my favorite heavy band. Saw an underground death metal band called buffalo farm open for a dark lotus show I went to last week. They were some really young kids so maybe they will blow up one day. At the moment I’m trying to focus on the 90s since that’s a decade I was deep into underground rap. Found some good songs so far.

Iapetus's new album was fucking amazing. It may be slighly bloated, but man it hits ya hard. It'll probably make some noise in my end of the year rankings. Thanks for the other suggestions my friend.

Floor Jansen made me like Nightwish … wonder who will be replacing her. I can't see them getting back with Tarja – too much "bad blood" between them.
