Weak, we should promote having conversations with people we disagree with and try and find some common ground, not live in an echo chamber. The fact your making excuses to people in the comments section about going on that podcast is a little pathetic. Such a shame as I really enjoy your content, this is just a little lame

Oh man, Andrew Gold. I used to know him a little bit back when he lived in Buenos Aires. Was a totally different guy back then. I don't believe he actually believes the things he says or advocates for. He tried different approaches to achieve relevancy until he found the right-wing thing was what would pay off. He is the perfect definition of a grifter in this sense. Just completely opportunistic.

Jeez how dare you talk to someone that may have right wing views.
Also Andrew Gold has had plenty of guest that are left wing, centrist or no political views, and sone out right crazy people, Call me old fashioned but i remember the days when you could talk to people or even be good mates with people you may politically disagree with. Crazy i know but they were the good old days.
Maybe all actors and musicians could clearly state their political views and then maybe us customers will decide whether we want to watch your movies or buy your music. Bunch of rubber johnny’s.

I couldn't watch all of the Andrew Gold episode. I think Andrew is great and he does a great job with other guests. But I think you let yourself down on the podcast because nothing anyone can ever do can cause you act in any other way than yourself. It may be a different side to what people are used to but ultimately you must take responsibility and account for everything you said other than blaming the interviewer.
I also found your demeanor very odd. You were offended, arrogant, triggered and defensive…….in an interview that's supposed to be transparent, open and have a sense of humility about it.
You led the discussion far more than Andrew directed it. You handled it poorly and was exposed for a lack if depth and maturity.
You went onto a political platform and got found out. And it was ugly.
    But Andrew just did Andrew.

It was absolutely fine to go on Andrew Gold. There's always a chance that it won't go well, but if the guest is intelligent and knowledgeable they will often just get into a bit of a sparring match and it's enjoyable to watch. It can also be fun to watch guests who aren't so well prepared get torn apart. The point is that if your views differ but have a strong basis, you should be able to argue them successfully, rather than avoiding challenging interactions.

Oh, God forbid you go on a podcast with someone “right”-leaning. You can’t live in an echo chamber when you have a gig to sell.
If there’s one thing I look forward to when I save up to go to a gig—organising the travel, time off work, babysitters, and accommodation—it’s hoping the artist belittles us over political or social issues. I hope they let us know how much virtue they have and how aware they are of the injustices of the world, and who I'm not supposed to like, and who I am supposed to talk to.Or they could just STFU and play their music. Entertain us. Help us escape the real world for a few hours. You can’t pick and choose your fans. Your fans choose you, despite personal or social leanings.
I still love the Darkness, and watch you Justin, even though you are a looney lefty and I'm right wing.

What is the world coming to! The best interviews are people with opposing views talking and trying to see another point of view. What a boring world it would be if we all had the same opinion on everything.

As a fan of you and of the Darkness I thought you both reminded me of a Laurel and hardy style double act in the fact that you seemed to bounce off each other conversationally.

At the end of the day, I think it’s a job requirement for him to dig deep and be a knobhead

As someone who I thought was common sense based, I thought it was great. The "losing it" covers many angles, I perceived it as when the interview got silly and laughy, as in – "losing it" – going on a side quest of silly. You came across brilliantly.

So your friend says you shouldnt go on AGs podcast because he platforms people who you/they dont agree with? Seems like you need some new friends! its because we dont engage with people who oppose are views, that the world is in such a shit state!

I can't wait to see the Darkness perform this year as it's always the highlight of my year to have my face melted at one of your gigs 😊. Wishing you good health and happiness and the best of luck with the soon to be released 'Crock of Hits'. Btw, Lay down with me Barbara is totally worthy of making that album, a lot of PWS is as it has brilliant tunes on it ❤

Lots of Love and sending positive vibes,
    Richie.

I have watched a few of his podcasts, just to open my mind to some different views (most of which I don't agree with!) – he loves a sensationalist thumbnail. Very clickbaity, but I think you dealt with him very well!

Unless words have lost all meaning, I am unaware of anything that Andrew Gold has done or said that would make the “far right” label a fair one. He’s a bit of a contrarian who probably places himself somewhere on the left but is a bit of a shit stirrer. The most controversial thing I’ve heard him say or do is to ridicule Meghan and Harry? I guess to some people if you challenge a single word of leftwing orthodoxy, you are a right wing zealot?

I've been a long time fan of Andrew Gold – Lonely Boy and thank you for being a friend are fabulous songs, and his work with Linda Ronstadt was great. The Daily Heretic bloke seems like it's about him more than the interviewee.

Watched the Alan Carr one to compare with the Andrew Gold one, and the reality is, like it or not, that the Andrew Gold one is about 1000 times more interesting from a viewer perspective. It's combative, dark, brooding, spiky, funny but in an extremely aggressive and unfriendly way. The Alan Carr one is elevator music by comparison. I remember you talking about how rock stars SHOULD be nasty, and no-one is playing that role anymore. Well, the Andrew Gold interview is compellingly nasty, while the Alan Carr one just isn't that at all.

It's good to converse with a range of different people/audiences but like I said… I'm surprised you lasted that long with Andrew. He might be a nice guy in real life, but he's such a boring interviewer.

It was lush to see you genuinely enjoying yourself with Alan Carr 🫶

Don’t worry about it – Andrew Gold is a dick. I think he thinks he’s a great interviewer but he tries to chuck out what he thinks will be controversial and totally over eggs it. All his interviews are really disjointed and you can tell he doesn’t really have a clue what he’s talking about most of the time. You could see him for what he was – that’s why you rubbed him slightly the wrong way – not all the way wrong but slightly

I'd say all your media training paid off with that one particular interview! The contrast between that and the Alan Carr interview was like night and day and it was obvious which one was more fun to do. Well done, Justin for surviving the trashfire interview with that other dude! Missed seeing you on your channel but very happy you're keeping busy! 🎉 Cheers from Manila

This is rage bait!!🤣🤣 what an entitled toss. I can't imagine hitting rock bottom. Yeah that's apparent. and wtaf does being Jewish have anything to do with it? And if you're talk about Gallagher(s) 🤮 you should talk more about Rory!🤩 not Noel the narc. 😝

The comments under this episode are a real insight into our times aren’t they? People are so affronted by what a musician says on YouTube: the indignation! Anyway, How Bloody Dare You Justin, you woke loser who I’ve never met but assume to know. I shall now UNSUBSCRIBE in a righteous huff. Oh no, hang on…. I have an actual life.
