I've been to Prague Zoo and it's AMAZING. It's so integrated with the mountain, the whole thing feels like a hiking trail with huge natural enclosures spread throught it. You can go inside and walk down a path across the enclosures of some peaceful birds! Many terrariums with reclusive species are hidden behind holes you have to peek through! Some enclosures are so big, I only saw a big cat head in the distance and didn't even see the elephants! It felt so big, and natural, and well-curated. They clearly put the comfort of the animals over the comfort of the guests- but having to walk uphill and not seeing an animal because it's not forced to be on display is a fantastic experience in my opinion

Man that is some foresight and an incredible ethos. Dr. Kurt Benirschke's work is an incredible embodiment of the adage "Blessed are those who plant trees under whose shade they will never sit".
It would be amazing to even just tell the man what his work has enabled.

I had a very similar experience with a cassowary that changed my mind about them too. I fed a male cassowary named Princess a grape out of the palm of my hand, and he was so polite 🥰 Made me realise that they are just birds that need to be treated with respect, they are not inherently vicious creatures.

Rewilding is one thing, but the chance to see animals in the flesh alone is invaluable for environmentalism. Especially for children. The most horrifying answer to "what's your favorite animal?" is "I don't like animals". How can we expect people to care for nature if it's something they only ever see on TV or as a pest in their pristine designer home? Nothing connects people more with animals than seeing them with their own eyes.

I've been to Berlin last week and visited both zoos there. The giant pandas were cuddly, but I enjoyed the red pandas more. They share a massive enclosure with tufted deer at the Tierpark and I got to see a panda spook one of the deer. The binturong mama and her cub feeding on tomatoes were adorable as well. We also saw a trained crested caracara fly over our heads.

I'd love to see what you'd think about Pairi Daiza, a zoo in my small country of Belgium that was nominated best zoo in Europe.
I have no idea how "correct" they are as far as zoo go. Used to go there all the time as a kid.

Casual, it's so bizarre to see you away from the box you edit yourself in. At least on YouTube. But I'm certainly not against it. As long as you still educate the people about unusual, or unheard of, or misunderstood animals. And I know you have the heart to do so!

3:07 me rubbing my hands together concocting a way to make sure that this video doesn't get one like, looks below and see 60,000 likes… "Time to pack it up boys, the games were rigged from the start."

this autoplayed and the tab was minimised and I thought it was a Wavy Websurf video cos I wasn't paying attention.
I thought it was cool that WW was covering animal related content.
Imagine my surprise when I tabbed it back up.
